Back in the jet, Nick had already handed Tony the files before asking him again if he was okay and what happened, before she finally just left him alone - not getting an actual answer. She went over and stood next to where Clint was on a gurney and connected to an IV with a bandage over his side and torso. Natasha stood next to the girl while Steve made sure that the IV was good, while Thor moved over to the case holding the scepter.
Nick, though, noticed where Bruce was sitting on some stairs with headphones on, no doubt playing something supposed to be calming. He was fidgeting with his fingers and rubbing his chin, causing the girl to nudge Natasha before nodding over, already able to tell the connection between the two.
Natasha walked over and kneeled down in front of Bruce, who took the headphones off. "Hey, the lullaby worked better than ever."
Bruce nodded before shaking his head, "Just wasn't expecting a code green."
"If you hadn't been there, there would have been double the casualties." Natasha reassured before nodding over, "My best friend would've been a treasured memory."
"You know, sometimes exactly what I want to hear isn't exactly what I want to hear." Bruce states as he looked at her, and Natasha's smile dropped as she genuinely asked. "How long before you trust me?"
Bruce shakes his head, "It's not you I don't trust."
"Thor, report on the Hulk." Natasha calls over, causing Nick to look up from where she was talking to Clint, who was half out of it and was mentioning a Laura and a baby. Nick didn't question it further and didn't bring it up to anyone, since she already knew what he was talking about after she had hacked SHIELD two years ago, and had hacked Senior Nick.
Director Fury had a couple off books files that she had gotten to, making it so Nick seemed to know a lot about everyone on the team, that she kind of didn't mean to learn but it's not like she can unread what she read. But after reading about Barton's family, Nick had actually deleted her footprints and had put up better firewalls so that anybody else wouldn't be able to get to the files.
But she didn't know that after Fury figured out she had gotten into the system, he had deleted the files all together.
"The gates of Hell are filled with the screams of his victims." Thor speaks boldly with a smile as he stepped away from where he'd been talking to Steve, and Nick closed her eyes briefly as she was amused, but felt bad for Banner. Bruce let out a groan as he put his head in his hands and Natasha turned to glare at Thor, who quickly tried to fix what he said. "But not the screams of the dead, of course. No, no, wounded screams. Mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoids and, uh, and gout."
"I... don't know what you just said but it sounded gross." Nick spoke up while giving him a look, and Thor looked back at the scepter as if that would hide him from what just happened.
