Back in America, the Williams family did try to do everything they could to find a way to bring Nicolette back, but all they reached were dead ends and closed doors. And eventually, they did have to get back to their lives, but not forgetting about what they had to do. And that was to get their baby girl back.

In Malibu, Tony Stark had eventually given up on finding the little girl after two days after she had left the mansion after the big fight. And even though he had told everyone that he was fine, and brushed off the fact that they'd never see her again- Happy, Rhodey, and Pepper all knew he was lying.

Rhodey and Pepper put in a couple favors with certain people, and two months after everything happened, one of them finally seemed to get through.

He was able to get a copy of a medical record, sent over from Cuba, that had certain keywords that matched what he had given his favor about. Lorelai Mendes, Dawn, Mendes, and the little girl's age and physical features.

When he got the file, he decided that he shouldn't be the one to open it, in case this was the little girl that had stayed there barely a week and left an impact. So, Rhodes brought it to the Stark mansion, where he had to take it down to the basement and wake Tony up, who was at the next and had obviously fallen asleep working on something.

Rhodes dropped the file on the desk, causing Tony to jump awake, before glaring up at him and looking down at the file. Tony sit back in his chair, "As pleasant as waking up to your face is, Rhodey, what is the meaning of this?"

"I put in a couple requests and favors people owed me, and got a hit." Rhodey said, sliding the file over to Tony, who nodded slowly. "A request for...?"

Rhodey crossed his arms over his chest, "Tony, you already know what it's for."

Tony let out a dramatic sigh, "You and Pepper just don't give up. That kid is probably fine, back at her home, and has moved on. So, we should too."

Rhodey gave him a look, "So... you're not going to look?"

"No, I'm going to look, because I'd like to know the name of the child who basically broke into my house." Tony said like it was obvious and moved to the file, he hesitated, before shaking it off and opening it. The first thing he saw was a picture of a little girl, who was definitely way younger than the 10-year-old who had shown up, but as he read over the medical record, he soon realized that it's because this file was from five years ago.

The incident report of a car accident matched the exact description, just written more by adults, of what the little girl had told him over Cocoa Puffs. Then he moved onto the date of birth, place of birth, then the little girl's full name; Nicolette Dawn Mendes.

"Well, if this is her, then at least she didn't completely lie about her name." Tony said over his shoulder, where Rhodes was, reading the file with him. The two then looked at the next papers, which included a photo of the car accident, and one of the little girl getting put into the ambulance. Then they saw the list of injuries she had gotten and the surgeries she had gotten, before they read the reports of the following days when she was in acoma because of a head injury.
