Chapter 23 - Anne's Water Breaks

5th March 2001, 11AM, I was peacefully eating brownies in my kitchen, waiting for Neville to come home.

I had met up with Dea a few times since we talked that day and now we were on fairly good terms.

Just then, I felt contractions.

I just shrugged and continued eating brownies. Draco said that having little contractions was normal during this time of pregnancy and it didn't mean that I was going into labor.

"Ow!" I shouted with a hand on my baby bump as I felt a sharp pain in my uterus.

"Calm down." I chuckled as I looked down at my belly as I felt a sudden kick.

I decided that I probably just need to lie down. But when I walked to the staircase, I felt my legs go weak.

"Oh please, not now!" I prayed. I was alone at home with no one but Tucker.

And just as I did, my water broke.

"Just fucking great!" I cried as my pains got worse and I fell to the ground.

Tucker noticed and immediately ran towards me and helped me sit up against the wall.

"My phone..." I frowned as I remembered that I left it in the kitchen and I couldn't even go back because I could barely get up.

Somehow, Tucker seemed to understand and he ran to the kitchen and got my cell phone, he was holding it in his teeth before dropping it in my lap.

"What would I do without you?" I said as I pet him before opening my speed dial contacts and calling the first person on the list...which happened to be Sirius.

Luckily, he picked up the call within 3 seconds.

"Hey kid, what is it?" He asked.

"Sirius...I-I've either peed myself or m-my water broke...I-I think it's the second one. Th-This hurts really bad! I can't even move! Neville's at work a-and there's no one home!" I cried.

"OH MY GOD! Don't worry, okay? Just hang in there, Remus and I will floo over in a few minutes. Remus, her water broke!"

"Ginny or Anne!?" I heard Remus in the background.

"It's Anne, we need to go!"

"Oh, Merlin!"

"P-Please make it fast!" I cried further.

"Annie, don't worry we'll be there in a minute, just stay on the line! Keep breathing!" Remus shouted into the phone.

"I-I'll try!"

About one minute later, I heard the whooshing sound of someone flooing into the chimney causing me to calm down a bit.

"Darling, we're in your house, where are you?" Remus asked.

"A-At th-the foot of the s-stairs."

"Okay." He sighed.

A few seconds later, Remus and Sirius' found me. I looked at their pale faces, they both looked terribly worried.

"Oh Merlin, are you okay?" Sirius asked as he crouched down beside me and kissed my forehead.

"DO I LOOK OKAY TO YOU!? I'M DYING HERE!" I yelled at him.

"DON'T SAY THAT YOU'RE DYING!" He yelled back at me.

"Stop yelling! Both of you!" Remus shouted at us before looking at me and adding, "Let's floo you over to St. Mungos."

"No! Healer Hoff said that it could be very dangerous to apparate or floo after my water breaks because I'm having twins which makes it high risk!" I told them.
