-.--.-..-.-...-

"You're here," the girl spoke with a breathy voice.

He stared at his girlfriend's disheveled look. A feeling of disgust bloomed inside him after seeing his lover's affair. How could he have fallen in love with this kind of person?

Seeing his unnerving expression, the girl tried to calm herself down. Her lover being silent is never a good sign.

"Chand, let me exp—"

"Explain? About what? About how and why you cheated on me?" Chand was seething. He couldn't believe that the love of his life had just betrayed him.

He was beyond hurt. There he was doing his best to mend their dying relationship and yet here she is playing hooky with someone that wasn't him.

"It isn't what it looks like," the girl said which made Chand chuckle humorlessly.

"Right, because making out with some guy who isn't your fucking boyfriend isn't cheating," his voice sounded so pained yet hollow at the same time.

"Do you really think I'd believe whatever lies you'll spout when I clearly saw the two of you?" He continued on. He could hear his heart breaking into tiny little pieces the more he speaks.

"Chand, please, just hear me out. Let's talk," the girl pleaded as tears started to escape from her eyes. She could feel him slipping away from her little grasp.

"I've been trying so hard for the past few weeks to get in contact with you and now you want to talk after I caught you in the act? You're unbelievable, Kali."

Chand didn't want to stay there any longer. The sight of his girlfriend only did nothing but pained him.

Facing his back to her, he tried to soothe himself. As much as he wanted to just leave her right there, he couldn't. His conscience would eat him up if anything were to happen to her.

"Let's go. I'll take you home," he spoke coldly to her.

The whole journey towards Kali's dorm was silent. He couldn't bring himself to look at her, more so, talk to her.

Knowing Chand, Kali decided to just stay quiet. Even when she wanted to speak and explain everything to him, she knew that he wouldn't listen. Not for now anyway.

She wanted to believe that he still trust her even after what he had just seen but she may have hoped for too much.

"Let's break up," Chand uttered as soon as they arrived at her dorm. And without waiting for her to say anything, he left her.
