-.--.-..-.-...-

Ever since being admitted to the hospital, Kali began to hate the idea of being left alone.

Partly because it gives her room to think, to feel.

To think about everything that's been going on in her life, the good and the bad, well mostly bad. To feel her body becoming weaker with each passing days, losing its former strength.

But, mainly, because being alone scares her. It suffocates her.

Although she hasn't told anyone about it. Even Chand, who's been with her ever since she was admitted, didn't know.

Kali didn't want to stay still, she wanted to do something to ease the feeling of being alone.

She looked around and noticed her glassed window closed. Wanting to breathe a dose of fresh air, she tried to stand up from her bed.

It was a bad idea.

Her weakened legs gave away from her very light weight causing both her knees to crash on the tiled floor quite harshly.

"Ha..."

That hurt, she couldn't bring herself to speak out loud. She tried to stand up, both her arms leaning unto something for support. But she couldn't.

That small amount of activity tired the hell out of her. Her body didn't have any ounce of strength.

This annoyed her. She bit her lower lip when she could feel frustration seeping out from her through unshed tears. She hates feeling like this—alone and vulnerable.

*Knocks*

Kali could hear the door sliding open, then hurried footsteps as it enters her room without any hint of hesitation.

A figure hunched down in front of her, "What are you doing on the floor?"

It was Chand.

As their eyes met, Chand could see and read whatever Kali was feeling at that moment. He had seen it, every damn day.

He knows she's becoming weak everyday. He knows how fragile and frustrated she is. He knows and he hated himself as there is nothing that he could do.

"We should get you off the floor. It's cold," Chand spoke as he carried Kali in his arm, he noticed a drastic change in her weight but didn't speak anything about it, and gently placed her on her own bed.

As he was about to move away from her, Kali held the hem of his black shirt. It caused him to halt and looked at Kali, who then tried to sit back up in front of him as he stood by the side of her bed.

Kali then did something he didn't expect.

She hugged him.
