"Lili! You're here!" The old lady greeted Kali as soon as she saw her.
"Good morning, Grandma Glen," Kali smiled cheerfully at the woman who's busily arranging the goods in her stall.
The old woman immediately noticed Chand's presence behind Kali. Her eyes twinkled at the thought that maybe her Lili has finally found someone whom she likes.
"Oh? Who's this fine young man?" Grandma Glen smiled as she saw how Chand's eyes lingered a little longer on Kali.
Kali chuckled at the old woman's words but answered her nonetheless, "This is Chand, a friend of mine from the city."
Chand's brows furrowed unconsciously as he heard Kali's words. Grandma Glen's eyes were sharp as she sees the young man's reaction and immediately took a mental note of it.
The old woman could feel herself giggling inwardly at how her Lili seemed so innocent when it comes to boys. She thought that the young man must probably have some hidden feelings for her dear Lili.
"A friend?" Grandma Glen repeated Kali's words as she glance once again at Chand. Her question seemed to be directed at the young lad.
Chand who became aware of the old woman's question, slowly nodded his head. "Hello, it's nice to meet you," Chand smiled as his eyes does too in the process.
Grandma Glen couldn't help but smile fondly at the young lad when he did a bow to show his respect at the elder.
"Hmm, I like this young man Lili. Make sure to keep him for yourself," Grandpa Eddie commented as he joins the three by the front. Since the old man was short, he had to look up at Chand.
"You take care of our Lili, okay?" He said to which Chand nodded. "Without a doubt, sir," he answered sincerely. The old man had a satisfied smile when he heard the young lad's answer.
Hearing Chand's words, Kali couldn't help the small smile gracing her lips. She could see that Chand was genuine with his words.
"Just call me Grandpa Eddie, kid. Come, I bet the two of you hadn't had any breakfast yet," the old man urged the two to follow him, which they gladly did.
