"So basically, what you're saying is that we'll pretend to be in a relationship and hope for her to get jealous or some shit," Chand monotonously said while looking at Casey whose cheeks were blushing profusely.

"That's your plan?" He was, without a doubt, unimpressed. How cliche could she get? Like seriously, he thought.

Casey nodded, completely oblivious to his train of thoughts.

"What benefit do I get from faking a relationship with you? And from seeing her jealous?" Chand cocked a brow.

Hearing his words, Casey became aware of how displeased he was with her idea. Her shoulders sagged down at his expression.

Chand sighed and closed the laptop he was working on. The night was getting late and a talkative Casey doesn't do much help in finishing his work.

"I'm going home," he said after packing his things up and left her by herself without even sparing a second glance.

As soon as he reached his place, he immediately started working on the unfinished project. He was too caught up in what he was doing that he didn't even notice another presence entering his room until it spoke.

"Well, isn't this a surprise."

Looking up from his laptop, Chand eyed the figure leaning on his doorframe. Ellis was casually drinking milk from a small carton box while watching him.

"What is?"

"You, getting home late but sober," Ellis let out a laugh as he saw the eldest's face.

Chand was frowning at his direction. He was sleepy but busy and so he needed to finish his work fast. Grabbing a pillow beside him, he threw it towards Ellis who only laughed even harder when it didn't hit him.

"Get out," Chand demanded the younger.

Ellis, however, had other plans. He only did the opposite and even sat across the eldest after grabbing a swiveling chair from his study table.

The light atmosphere surrounding Ellis completely vanished as the younger lad looked at Chand with a serious expression.

It was rare to see Ellis like that. He was always the type to joke around and never take anything so seriously.

"I know it's none of my business but..."
