"I should just go back," Kali slowed her steps. She and Phoebe were on their way to their usual lunch table.

Phoebe had finally persuaded Kali to eat lunch with them. She couldn't allow her to skip lunch nor eat alone.

She knew the girl barely made any friends outside of their circle. Kali and Chand were so much alike that they would only socialize with their friends and would rather be alone than make new friends.

The only time she actually saw her interacting with other people was during groupings. And that was the end of it.

Moreover, seeing how intimidating her physical appearance is especially those eyes, she doubts anyone would actually try to approach her.

"But you already promised me this morning that you'll join us for lunch," Phoebe pouted causing Kali to sigh.

If it wasn't for Phoebe's persuasive words, she never would've said yes.

"Kali?" The tallest girl in their table questioned as soon as the two joined the gang.

The others were surprised to see her as well after so long but looks of unwelcome soon graced their faces as they remembered how much she had hurt Chand.

Kali's eyes widen slightly at the sight. She had expected this from them, yet it still surprised her.

"Hi..." she said to no one in particular. They only stayed silent as they looked at her with contempt.

"Kali will join us for lunch, okay?" Without waiting for their reply, Phoebe pulled Kali to sit beside her.

"What the hell, Phoebe? Why would you let her sit with us?"

"Avery is right. No one's really welcoming her here. Plus, it's only making everyone uncomfortable," the youngest among the boys spoke.

"Pierre and Avery, give it a rest. She'll eat with us, okay? End of story," the shortest among the guys spoke up. He was the quietest one among them. He rarely speak up or voice out his concern but when he does, everyone listens to him.

Well, almost everyone.

"Who the fuck are you to decide that, Vin?" Pierre narrowed his eyes at Vin. Pierre hates being told on what to do.

Hearing a conversation where it flat out implied that they didn't want her was very heartbreaking for Kali to hear. Especially when it came from their two youngest who used to be so close to her.

Vin looked at him with sharp eyes when he heard the youngest giving him an attitude. He was about to say something but someone had done damage to Pierre a little earlier than he could.

"Hey, is that how you speak to someone who's older than you, Pierre?" Ellis, who's standing behind Pierre, put a hand on the youngest' shoulder and gripped it a little tighter. It was a clear warning.

Pierre, who caught Ellis' warning, finally understood how bad his words sounded. He guiltily looked at Vin, "Sorry."

Vin only gave a stiff nod and proceeded to eat his lunch.

"Let's all just eat our lunch and let Kali join us, okay?" Ellis said to the people in their table. There were no response except for Phoebe who said a 'yes' showing how happy she is with the end result.
