-.--.-..-.-...-

The sudden sound of the door opening caused the students to look up from their test papers.

Chand's eyes diverted towards the front as a familiar cat-eyed figure walked over to the proctor who's standing at the center. It was none other than his ex, whom he hasn't seen for a while now after that lunch fiasco.

They talked for a few seconds before her own set of the questionnaires were given.

After thanking the kind proctor who allowed her to take the exam even when she was twenty minutes late, Kali looked over to the sea of students, finding for an empty chair.

As she continued her search, her eyes met Chand's but the boy quickly averted his eyes as if burned by the sudden sight.

Kali didn't take it to the heart. Tried to.

She sighed and walked towards the very back when she saw a vacant seat.

Minutes ticked by as each students answers and go over the individual items on their examination papers. "Alright, times up! Pens down everyone and submit your papers here in the front now! I won't be taking any late ones!" the proctor announced after his timer set-off.

Groans and chairs scraping the wooden floor were heard within the large room as the students stood up hurriedly to pass their papers.

Grabbing his bag that he placed on the floor, Chand stood up as soon as the number of students dwindled.

After passing his paper to the proctor, he was soon out of the room. The third day of exam was finally done.

"God, I hated that subject," Declan whined as he put an arm over Chand's shoulders and walked beside him.

The eldest chuckled at him. Declan hates every subject. That's why he's the one who makes the least effort between the two of them.

"I'm pretty sure you still did well," Chantal rolled her eyes as she walked on the other side of Chand.

"What she said," Chand agreed.

Declan shrugged off their statements, not wanting to talk about it anymore. Chantal seemed to remember something, "By the way, Kali actually turned up huh? I thought she'd miss the exam this time too."

The two turned to look at her, wondering what she meant by it. Feeling their stare, her eyes widened. "What? Don't tell me you guys haven't noticed it?"

She shouldn't have been surprised. The others have been ignoring her and moving on about with their lives — especially Chand.

Actually, she's even more surprised at herself since she's been keeping tabs on the said girl.

"What do you mean, Chantal?" Declan questioned.

"Well, I haven't seen her take any of the exams in the classes that we shared together, other than that one awhile ago..."

"You sounded concerned," Chand raised a brow at her direction.

"Kind of? I don't know. We used to be friends with her. And, we know how Kali's always been such a good student that she never misses a day of school. All the more that she's a scholar," Chantal reasoned out, shrugging.

She hated what Kali had done to Chand, but she couldn't help herself from worrying just a tad bit. After all, she and Kali had been friends since the two started college.

Declan gently tapped Chantal's back, "So? It's not like she has any financial problems or anything of the like. Maybe she just didn't want to take it? You know what, you're probably worrying over nothing."

Chantal slowly nodded her head, agreeing to Declan's words which didn't seem all that impossible.
