-.--.-..-.-...-Immediately standing up, Chand didn't wait for the goodbyes of his group-mates as soon as their short meeting ended.
"Chand, wait!"
He was already walking down a flight of stairs when he heard a feminine voice. He looked up, "What do you want, Casey?"
The girl hurriedly walked towards him.
"You sure are in a hurry, aren't you?"
Sensing as if the girl doesn't really have anything important to say, Chand resumed his walking.
Casey, on the other hand, caught up with him and walked by his side.
"I heard you and Kali broke up. Is it true?" She asked out of the blue.
"I don't see how that's any of your business."
"Fair point. I also heard that she did something which caused you guys to split apart. Is that also true?"
This caused Chand to halt. He hasn't told a single person, other than his close friends, as to why the two had broken up. Surely he can trust his friends, right?
He looked beside him with narrowed eyes, "Where'd you heard that from?"
Casey looked at him and smirked, realizing something. "So it is true," she said.
Chand realized what he had just done. No matter how hurt he was at what Kali did to him, he doesn't want to be the reason for her good reputation to tarnish.
With that in mind, he ignored Casey and hurriedly tried to walk home. But before he could, Casey spoke once again causing him to stop.
"Wanna eat some ice cream with me?"
Her question caught him off guard. It confused the hell out of him.
"Why should I eat ice cream with you?"
Casey wasn't the least bit offended with his statement. After all, she knew that the guy never hangs out with anyone other than his friends.
"I don't know. I like you so I asked you out and I was just hoping you'd say yes?" The girl bashfully smiled.
Chand didn't expect her straightforward confession. Don't get him wrong. He's used to receiving affections from people around him. It's just that rarely does it happen where one would directly confess to him.
Plus, he always turned down any confessions aimed at him for he was in a relationship.
"I don't like you..." Chand trailed off.
"Hey! I wasn't asking if you like me back. I just wanted to grab some ice cream with you," the girl cutely reprimanded him.
Without waiting for his reply, she swiftly grabbed a hold of his wrist and pulled him towards an ice cream parlor near their campus.
"Let's go," she smiled.
