"So, what's really going on between you and Zaxton?" Chand asked Kali, who's walking beside him.

The two were now casually strolling on their way home after the hearty breakfast they had at the elders' home.

Kali looked over to her side, wondering why Chand would ask her that question. "Nothing's going on between us," she answered honestly.

There's really nothing going on between her and Zaxton, other than her recently finding out he's actually related to her by blood.

"Really? It sure sounded like there is. Grandma Glen and grandpa Eddie seemed close with him too," he asked again.

The elders did asked for Zaxton when the four had breakfast together. But Kali had told them that he was still asleep, thus he wasn't able to join her for her usual morning walk.

Kali faced Chand, her eyes brimming with sincerity, "Actually, I do like Zaxton."

Chand's heart dropped at her words.

"As a friend. But I think it's more of a familial type of like now? I don't know. Just that, I don't like him romantically," Kali continued.

She could see the change in Chand's eyes. How moments ago, his eyes looked cold and hurt but now they seemed to be alive again.

Chand stared directly at Kali, his eyes seeking for truth. When he found no lies hidden in the girl's words, he felt his heart breathe in relief.

Kali stopped in her tracks and face the taller lad causing him to stop from walking as well. She tilted her head up in order to look at Chand directly in the eyes before admitting, "Zaxton's my brother."

Kali's statement seemed to have brought Chand's world to a pause. It was something the young lad had not expected to hear. He was sure that something must've been going on between his ex-lover and that guy but, boy, was he wrong.

Chand remained stoic in his position as his mind processed what Kali had just shared to him. After finally comprehending the girl's words, Chand could feel himself getting giddy.

Although he knew he shouldn't be feeling this way against her, he knows that he couldn't make himself to stop too. There's just something in Kali that makes him unable to not care for her.

Something he knew and had felt for her way back when they were still together.
