A hangover on a weekday was never a good idea. It was what Chand had thought as he lowly cussed under his breath after feeling an incoming splitting headache, "Fuck."
What made it worse was sitting through all of his morning lectures. He just wanted to go back to the comfort of his bed and sleep the day off but he knew he couldn't do so.
His mother would kill him if news about him skipping classes would reach her. Truthfully, he doesn't really care about his studies nor his mother, it's just that getting an earful is a hassle.
Plus, his mother would always snitch whatever bad he does to his father. And that isn't good.
"I'm never drinking again," he groaned out as he plopped himself beside Ellis. The whole gang, except for Kali, were at their usual lunch table.
"And I'm an anti-romantic," Ellis chimed in causing the others to snicker for they all knew it was a lie. Ellis was the most romantic out of all of them that was why he stayed neutral and never took sides between his friends who had broken up. He wanted to believe the good in them.
The eldest gave him a glare then proceeded to ignore him. His eyes unconsciously scanned their table while looking for a familiar face.
The pretty girl with blonde highlights, who's sitting across from him, noticed this and scowled at him. She's been an avid supporter of their relationship but it all changed after the incident.
"If you're looking for her, well, she's not here. Obviously," she spoke.
Ever since the two broke up, Kali hasn't shown herself to anyone in their group — neither during lunch nor even in classes. Even her roommate barely sees her anymore. It was as if she suddenly became Casper the Ghost that anyone couldn't see.
"Who said I was looking for her?" Chand made a disgusted face.
The girl shrugged, "Your eyes are telling a different story though." She just wanted him to move on. She hated seeing her close friends hurting.
"Wow. I didn't knew that the eyes can speak, Xena," Chand made a sarcastic remark.
Xena rolled her eyes. She could tell that no matter how much he acts as if Kali meant nothing to him anymore, she knew that he still cares deeply for his cheating ex-lover.
