"That's all of it, right?" The kind taxi driver asked Kali. He was helping her by taking out the two large luggage out of the taxi's trunk and placed them on the side of the road.
He thought that the young woman was too thin and was afraid she would get buried by her luggages if she were to carry them.
"Yes, thank you so much. Here's my fare and keep the change," she handed out a few bills to the driver.
She had decided to drop-out from college and live faraway from the city as possible where no one knows her. So, here she is, in the countryside.
She definitely chose a place with a good beach. She loves the sea after all. It reminded her of when her mother and her would visit a beach and spend a day there, just relaxing after an exhausting week of doctor appointments and checkups.
She had already rented a small place to stay, just big enough for a single person to live by.
It was a small white cottage beach house since it was the only place that fits within her budget. She had already spent her remaining money on her medicines and some other necessities.
She wanted to live a much more relaxed and comfortable life — the complete opposite of how her life was just few weeks ago where she had to work and study at the same time.
Since her mother died when she was young and her father basically abandoned her, she had to do everything by herself. It was a never ending hell for her.
After she had settled down most of her things, she decided to make something for her to eat. She was getting hungry and it was already around six in the evening.
This was nothing new to her — cooking and doing everything by herself. It always made her feel independent yet lonely at the same time.
She missed her friends. She missed how loud they were. She missed everyone she's close to, especially him. But she knew that no matter how much she wished for it, time will never rewind.
"I should get used to this."
