-.--.-..-.-...-"What's wrong?" Chand tried to ask.
He could feel Kali's arms around him tightening a tad bit.
He then circles his arms around her small figure, embracing her body as he bent down and leaned his head against her shoulder. He hugged her back and it brought calmness to Kali.
"I'm sorry," Chand spoke softly, his lips were close to her ear.
"I'm sorry it took too long for me to get back here from Zaxton's place," he reasoned. Chand has been staying at her brother's place. It was closer to the hospital, just a 10-minute walk.
"What happened?" Another figure joined the two.
Chand looked up with a helpless expression and saw Zaxton entering the room while Kali didn't even move an inch.
After setting down the things that he brought, Zaxton neared the two and reaches his arm out to gently pat Kali's head. The girl then broke from her hold on Chand and looked up at the two; she smiled warmly, "I'm hungry."
Chand immediately went and grabbed a bento box, which Zaxton had brought.
Kali's smile deepened seeing how attentive Chand was to her needs. But Zaxton could see the redness around her eyes and on the tip of her nose, it was a look she'd often have whenever she'd try to hold back her tears.
Bringing her share of food, Chand sat beside Kali on her bed and helped her in eating. It became his habit and Kali didn't mind.
Zaxton, on the other hand, scowled at the two seeing their affectionate attitude towards each other, "What is this? Am I suddenly invisible to you two?"
His statement caused Kali to laugh causing him to give-out a defeated smile. He couldn't bring himself to be bitter for being single any longer whenever he sees his sister being happy.
He's a sucker for her.
