Kali didn't want to come down from her room after what happened last night. She doesn't think that seeing him anytime soon would be good for her.
But, today is the last day of their mini vacation.
The last day where she'll be able to spend quality time with her friends. She can't just let the day end without spending it with them, no matter how much they hated the idea of her coming with them.
Kali carefully stepped down the stairs as she heard laughter coming from the dining area. Curious, she peeked before inviting herself into the group.
Everyone were sitting around the dining table, chatting about something.
Avery who was by the end of the table, just a few feet away from the end of the stairs, noticed her. "Kali! You finally came down. Come, sit and join us for lunch," the youngest' words brought the attention of the others to Kali.
A tepid smile made its way to the corners of Kali's lips as she sat across from Avery and beside Phoebe.
"Oh, right. Casey you haven't met Kali yet, right?" Declan's words caught Kali's attention.
Looking to her far right, where Declan was sitting, she saw a new face joining them.
She's pretty, is what Kali thought. Casey is indeed pretty. Her long luscious wavy hair perfectly complimented her round brown eyes. And when Casey smiled as she turned to meet Kali, her face shone even brighter.
"Hi, I'm glad to finally meet the infamous Kali Aphelion," Casey spoke, her voice sounded melodic even in Kali's ears.
Kali could only wave her hand a little towards her direction as she could feel a sudden knot in her stomach.
After the little introduction, the group resumed eating.
"So, when did you and Chand meet?" Xena directed her question to the new girl.
"And where?" Ellis chimed in.
Chand only groaned when he heard the young ones questioning his guest while the two only looked at him with matching teasing smiles.
"I prefer it when you guys argue, it's more entertaining to watch," Chand grumbled before taking a few sips of his cold drink.
His statement caused the others to chuckle, especially Declan who's sitting beside the eldest. While Xena and Ellis complained at the same time, "Hey!" Which then turned into another round of them bickering.
"But, I'm honestly surprised that you invited her to eat with us," Chantal couldn't help but comment, a few nodded in agreement.
As they continue feasting, Kali kept quiet all throughout lunchtime, save for the times where Phoebe or Avery would talk to her.
She couldn't help it. It was her first time seeing Chand laughing and making such a happy face because of someone that isn't her.
Just judging from how he looks at the new girl, Kali knew then that Chand had taken a liking to Casey.
