-.--.-..-.-...-

Chand, Declan and Chantal took their seats as soon as they arrived in the lecture hall. The professor hasn't arrived yet but the room was already brimming with students.

"Hey, that girl's waving at you," Declan pointed towards the front.

Chand, who's sitting beside him, took a quick glance and saw that it was Casey. He ignored her. Truth be told, he's still annoyed about what Casey had suggested a few days back.

The revenge part was good, admittedly it caught his attention, but the part where he had to be in a relationship with someone who's presence is basically a stranger to him? He'd rather choke and die than to be with her.

No matter if the relationship is fake or real.

"I don't know her."

"Hmm. She looks pretty but not exactly my type," Declan commented, shrugging his shoulders as if saying 'too bad'.

Hearing their conversation, Chantal looked at the two, and eyed Declan with a grimace, "No one's really asking, Declan."

"Heh, as if. Why are you acting like you aren't curious?" Declan smirked at his friend.

"That's 'cause I'm not," Chantal rolled her eyes. The two would always bicker like this. Well, actually, the three of them has always been like this.

If it weren't for Kali who always hangs out with them before, these three would've probably killed each other already. Kali was like their personal referee. She'd always be the first to step up and stop any quarrels before it would get out of hand.

Not listening to their petty insults towards each other, Chand noticed that the short girl had left an empty chair between her and Declan.

"By the way, why are you sitting over there, shorty?"

Chantal furrowed her eyebrows hearing the stupid nickname from the eldest. Admittedly, she hated how Kali stopped mingling with them. These two are always teasing her every chance they get.

They just won't give her a freaking break.

"For your stupidness to not rub on me. Also, you guys embarrass me," she rolled her eyes as the two laughed after hearing her choice of words.

But deep down, the three knew why she left a single chair between her and Declan.

It used to be Kali's seat.

And seeing how they used to sit in class together, it just became a habit for Chantal to always leave an empty chair beside her.
