-.--.-..-.-...-Wrapping the thick knitted cardigan around her, Chantal made her way downstairs.
The feeling of being awaken to the sound of waves was refreshing to her ears and the fresh countryside breeze felt good compared to the one in the city.
Noticing the opened front door, she walked towards it.
"Declan? What are you doing out here?" She questioned the lad as soon as she saw his back.
Declan glanced at her with a smile on his face, which was rare, and he pointed at something a few distance from where the two were standing.
"Is that...?"
Declan nodded. "Yup. It's about damn time they have that talk," he commented.
As the two gazed at the ex-lovers talking a few distance from them, their eyes widen in surprise as they saw Chand's figure suddenly hugging Kali's body.
It was an intimate moment between the two and the onlookers felt like it was inappropriate to watch something that should only be shared between them.
So, Chantal and Declan decided to head inside the villa and leave the two in their own little world.
"Well, that was something..." Chantal trailed off, unsure of what to say. Declan, who understood how she felt, could only nod his head in agreement.
"What do you wanna eat? I'll cook breakfast," Chantal tried to break the awkward atmosphere.
Declan felt grateful for her thoughtfulness and answered her with another smile, "Toasted garlic bread."
Chantal was caught off guard with the lad's expression. The girl was so used at being teased by Declan that this type of behavior weirded her out.
She only nodded in response and proceeded to make one for the boy as well as for herself.
Declan sat and waited for Chantal by the counter. As the girl prepped their light meal, he stared at her with an unreadable expression.
Chantal, who could feel his intense gaze towards her direction, couldn't help but squirm uncomfortably as her hands busily lathered the bread with garlic and butter.
Heaving out a sigh from the unwanted attention, she looked up and faced the lad. "What?" She bluntly asked as their eyes met.
Declan shook his head. He could feel his ears going red after knowing Chantal caught him in the act.
"You look like you wanna say something to me?" The girl prodded.
"You're pretty," Declan accidentally blurted out. He had always find Chantal pretty, especially now that the girl's not wearing any makeup.
The unexpected compliment caused Chantal to blush. Her cheeks going pink as she cleared her throat, trying to dismiss Declan's words.
"Whatever," she answered in a clipped voice as she focused on putting the garlic bread on the toaster. The lad, on the other hand, looked at her amusedly.
Declan was supposed to feel embarrassed for speaking his mind out-loud and had already expected the girl to ignore his words.
But instead, he could feel himself becoming interested in his friend, who clearly hadn't expected him to say that.
"Cute," he whispered, his eyes staring at her small back as she busied herself with preparing their light food.
