-.--.-..-.-...-"What did you guys mean by that?"
Chand's question was directed to no one yet, at the same time, aimed to all known individual present in the lobby.
The young lad's appearance was so sudden that Zaxton and Avery didn't know what to say. Even Seb was loss for words at the sudden turn of events, that question had made him realized that Kali's friends may actually not know about her condition.
However, even with an infuriated Chand, no one uttered a single word. Morelike, no one could as they were frozen in their spots.
It was inevitable for the others to come to know about Kali's current condition but they just hadn't expected for it to happen so soon.
"Why aren't any of you answering me?!" Chand bellowed, his tone sounding calm and dull even as his voice raised. He looked at Avery for an answer but the youngest was too busy crying and couldn't meet his gaze directly.
Zaxton ignored his question and instead turned towards the doctor who had been talking to the three of them since a while ago, "We won't be doing the chemo. Actually, I'd like for Kali to go back home and rest in the villa."
"Are you insane?! Going back to the villa would only do nothing but kill her! Do you even care about Kali?!" Avery was furious when she heard Zaxton's decision.
Seb could only watch silently while pulling Avery back away from Zaxton when it looked like she wanted to hit him.
"I do care about her! She's my sister for fuck's sake!"
"Care?! The audacity to say that you care about her when you solely decided just now about something really important that concerns her life!"
"You—!"
"Alright, alright. Stop it, you two," Seb forced the two apart when their argument became heated. They were gaining curious and irritated looks from the hospital staff's and other patients.
"Stop what?!"
"If this person wouldn't have said something so stupid then I wouldn't even get mad in the first place!"
"Stupid? Hah! I'm only doing what Kali would've wanted!"
"Wanted? Wanted?! You mean that she wanted to die?"
"Shut up! Both of you!" Chand was livid. If the Chand a few seconds ago wasn't frightening enough, then the Chand now surely is. He was seething—an emotion none of their friends has ever seen of before, other than Kali.
"Now. Tell me what the fuck is going on," each words sounded harsh and commanding, leaving the other three known individuals without any choices but to follow his every word.
The doctor, who had witnessed everything that had just happened, knew that they needed the space to talk among themselves, so he excused himself.
There was nothing more that the three could do in order to avoid the current situation. And Zaxton knew of that. As he stared with an unwavering gaze towards Chand, he uttered in a low voice, "Kali's sick."
Hearing this, Chand could feel his world collapsing.
