-.--.-..-.-...-"Is he not awake yet?" Declan asked the youngest, Pierre.
Pierre looked up from his plate after taking a huge bite on his waffles. "He's awake. He just didn't wanna come down and join us," he spoke while chewing his food greedily, which earned him a not-so-soft slap on his thigh. He groaned and looked at his side with furrowed brows which quickly smoothened when he saw a glaring Avery.
Pierre really is a sucker for Avery.
After Pierre's statement, the group fell into a very loud silence. Only the clanking of metals against the plate could be heard as they continue to eat their breakfast silently.
After Kali and Chand left the bonfire, the group knew the two needed a very serious and deep talk between them. They expected the two to get back together again after that talk but what they didn't expect was a withdrawn Chand huddled into a fetal position on his bed as soon as the boys got back to their shared room.
They all thought that something must've went wrong with their conversation that night.
The other girls had tried to speak with Kali but Zaxton had told them that she wanted to be alone, so respecting her wishes, the girls didn't forced themselves on her. After all, they knew that Kali would tell them everything once she's ready.
That was the one thing they now know that she would do, that Kali would eventually come to them on her own accord.
Unable to do anything for the two, the group continued to eat their breakfast at a very ungodly hour. It was five in the morning, the day they all have to go home.
They needed to head off very early if they didn't want to arrive in their own homes at the break of dawn. And soon, all of them finished breakfast and quickly prepared all of their things, putting it into the van they had arrived with.
Once all of their things were set inside the van, each of them were already by the gate, saying their gratitude and farewell to Zaxton. But to everyone's surprise, a tired-looking Kali came down to bid them goodbye too.
Chand, who briefly caught sight of her figure, quickly avoided her. He's hurting and seeing the person who had caused it, doesn't really help much with how he's currently feeling. So, without wasting another second, he went inside the van before anyone could.
His actions were seen by Kali, all of it. And she couldn't help but to smile bitterly at it. She should've expected this already—him avoiding her like a plague, but it's still painful to bear.
She thought that it would be better for them to be like this, she knew that she's being selfish for being like this but she really wanted to see him as much as her time permits her.
Even when seeing him again only brings her bittersweet emotions.
"Goodbye Zax and Kali."
"We'll see you soon in the campus, okay?" Xena directed her question to Kali as she hugged the eldest to which Kali returned with much gusto as she could muster.
Kali only hummed in response as she didn't want to make a promise that she might eventually break.
Avery also went to hug the eldest. "Sebby is definitely on his way, I'm sure he'll be here soon. Please, you have to hold on, okay?" The youngest whispered to Kali, who felt grateful for her words and only tightened her arms around in return while nodding her head.
"Drive safely, you guys. Okay?" Zaxton spoke to the others, sincerely bidding them a safe long trip on the road.
And soon the group headed off, leaving Kali and Zaxton behind.
