-.--.-..-.-...-

"Are you okay?" A dainty girl walked over to Kali with a concerned expression.

Kali had stopped moving as she heard her coworker. She looked at her and smiled, "I'm fine, Mira."

Kali is currently working as a waitress in a high-end restaurant. She was glad that she finally landed a job where the pay was much higher than the previous one.

Worry was still evident on Mira's face as she looked at Kali and went to grab some tissues.

She immediately handed it to her, "You're not. Your nose is bleeding."

Kali had no idea until she felt a sticky liquid dripping on her upper lips. As her fingers touched it, it was unmistakably blood.

She quickly received the tissues from Mira and had only noticed now the sudden slight dizziness in her head causing her to stumble a little on her toes.

Seeing this, Mira quickly grabbed her to stop her from falling. "You should take a rest. I'll continue cleaning up here since we're almost done anyway."

She brought Kali to the staff's area and let her rest there.

Kali sighed as she closed her eyes. To be honest, she is exhausted. From the incident that happened from her last job, to the breakup and piled up schoolworks, and now this — her health.

She just wanted to rest and stay away from everything but she knew she couldn't do that. She promised her mom that she would fight and live on even without her.

She opened her eyes when she heard the door opened. It was Mira.

"You know you can talk to me, Kali. I may be just a coworker but bottling things up is really not good for yourself," Mira spoke as she sat beside Kali.

Mira has always been direct with her words. If she sees someone struggling, she makes sure that she would lend a hand as long as she can. Her hard life had thought her that.

Hearing Mira's words, Kali contemplated about it. She figured that this may be her only chance at opening up to someone about what she's feeling right now. Plus, isn't this the first time that someone was actually willing to listen to her?

"My boyfriend broke up with me a few weeks ago and... I'm still a mess," she said as a sad smile made its way to her lips.

Mira hadn't expected her to share anything. Kali had always been closed-off with her personal life. She never divulge anything about it, which is understandable since they were in a professional setting.

Moreover, Kali was so good at acting as if nothing happened that Mira would've never thought that the girl had been experiencing something so terrible and heartbreaking.
