-.--.-..-.-...-

"Kali, hey! Wait up!" Chand forced himself to meet Kali's pace. It wasn't that hard as he had long legs. But even as he reached her, she didn't show any signs of slowing down.

"Kal," he called out again but it only went into deaf ears.

Unable to think of any other way, Chand gently grabbed her hand, finally forcing her to a stop in front of him, her back directed towards his.

"Kali, hey. Look at me," Chand hunched forward, wanting to look at Kali's face. He gently turned her around and cupped one of her cheeks, effectively making her look at him. Her striking eyes met his and he could feel how soft her skin was against his hand.

"What's wrong? Why do you look so sad?" He probed. He hates it when he sees her like this—unsure and in pain. Even when she doesn't say anything, he could tell. Oh, how he could read her so easily.

Chand is worried. Something must be going on with Kali, seeing as how she is behaving right now. Unfortunately, he didn't have any clue as to why. But Kali didn't want to say anything to him and Chand could tell from her expression.

"Stop it," Kali mumbled lowly while looking sharply at Chand but he heard it. "Stop what?" He asked, confused. His hold on her cheek loosened when he saw how she looks at him, as if she wanted to stay away from him as far away as possible but at the same time, not really.

"Stop looking at me as if you care," Kali forced out making Chand blink, taken aback by what she said.

Kali knew Chand had always cared for her, ever since they made up. She could see it through his actions. He's been so attentive of her that it was too hard not to notice.

Hell, everyone knew.

But remembering how he acted as if she was a stranger to him just few months ago, it saddened her. She couldn't help but think that maybe it was just the guilt that is making him act like this. She was unsure if he was really genuine with his actions.

So it was inevitable for her to doubt him.

Afterall, their breakup caused her to become the person that she is now—weak, vulnerable and untrusting.

Moreover, the emotions that swelled up inside her awhile ago as she listened to Chand singing in front of her made her realized another thing. It was a thought that has been knocking against the depths of her mind, waiting ever since to be entertained.

She's still in love with him.

No, to better put it, she didn't stop loving him. And this thought alone scared her the most. Because she knew that sooner or later, she would need to let him go.
