-.--.-..-.-...-

"Avi? You called?" The youngest heard her brother spoke on the other end of the line.

"Sebby, are you busy right now?" Avery asked as she sat down beside Zaxton and Kali on her bed.

Avery could hear the sudden muted background over the phone when her brother answered her, "Not really. What's up?"

"I was wondering if you have some meds stored in your office? It's for a friend of mine, she's out and needs them urgently."

"Meds? Friend?" Seb asked in confusion.

"You remembered Kali, right? One of your patients? She's actually a close friend of mine..." Avery trailed off, she could hear the deafening silence coming from her brother.  It was suffocating.

Seb, on the other hand, had to pause at the news he had just heard. Of course, he knew Kali. She had been his patient ever since she was diagnosed with that life-threatening disease.

"She's out of meds?" Seb immediately came into his senses.

"Apparently," the youngest answered.

"But she's still doing good, right?" He asked. He could remember the last time he saw her and that was almost three months ago. It was the same day he had told her those dreadful words a doctor could say to their patient.

"I'm not sure. She's looking quite pale as of the moment," Avery said, her worried eyes glancing at the eldest girl.

"I see. Can you pass her the phone? I'd like to talk to her," Seb requested to which Avery immediately complied to.

Due to the build-up stress from the situation, Kali's voice sounded tired as she speaks, "Seb."

"Kali, are you okay? Avi told me you needed meds?"

"Yes..."

"Which ones?"

"All of it. I don't have any painkillers left and even my maintenance had already ran out," she said.

"So you haven't taken any for tonight?"

"I... haven't," Kali's answer made Seb anxious. Since Kali is now in the terminal stage, it'll be impossible for her to hold out for long without any medications. He knew he needed to do something fast. There isn't enough time to spare.

"I see. I'll personally bring it there then, it would be bad if something were to happen with your medications along the way if I'll entrust it to someone. Where are you guys staying right now?"

Kali paused, second-guessing whether she should share her location but the situation weighed heavier than her worries so she answered almost without any hesitation, "Bridgetown."

"Okay, it'll probably take me eight to ten hours max by car if I head off now," Seb immediately prepared everything, good thing he have some stocks left of the medication that Kali needs.

"You're gonna need to endure it Kali," he added, worried about her. He had became attached to her as he had witnessed her every struggle. Sympathy, yes, that was how he feels about her.

"I know, I'll try to. Thank you, Seb."
