"She's still asleep?"

Vin questioned the youngest as soon as she came down from Kali's room.

The rest were already gathered in the dining table and having breakfast. Avery and Kali were the only ones who haven't eaten yet.

Sitting on the empty chair beside Pierre, Avery shook her head at the older boy's question, "Kali has a fever."

"What?" Phoebe asked in surprise as the others looked at Avery's direction. A few had an expression laced with concern.

"I'll get the medicine kit," Ellis stood up from his seat.

"I'll come with you," Phoebe was about to stand and come along with Ellis but Avery stopped them.

"I already gave her some meds," Avery told them causing the two to sit back down in their place.

"Hopefully, her fever will subside after a couple of hours," Avery continued as Pierre placed some scrambled egg on her plate, urging her to eat since he knew that the youngest must already be starving.

The kind gesture made Avery smile gratefully at the young lad.

The scene that played out in front of the others wasn't new to them. The two were always sweet towards one another which the others had gotten very used to.

Even Xena who would almost always gag at any public display of affection from her friends, couldn't help but smile at the two.

"So, what's the itinerary for today?" Declan asked.

"Wait, there was one?" Pierre questioned as he looked up from his plate.

The tallest only gave him a bland look as Chand shrugged beside him.

They had not exactly planned anything for the day. The only thing in their mind was to relax and laze around as much as possible.

"There's a huge park just a few blocks from here if you guys wanna go," Ellis suggested.

"Oh! Let's have a picnic there," Chantal widely smiled, a look of eagerness clearly visible on her face. The others agreed at her idea. It's a sunny day out, definitely perfect for a picnic outdoors with friends.

Avery looked at the others as she silently listened to their conversation.

"I'll stay behind," Avery said. Looks of confusion immediately came her way which the youngest just returned with a smile.

"No one will be left behind to take care of Kali, so I'll stay."
