-.--.-..-.-...-

Kali woke up from her sleep when she heard loud knocks on her door. She had always been a light sleeper so it was easy to wake her up.

Her eyelids were heavy and her body was beyond tired. She didn't even do much yesterday, other than swimming for just an hour or two.

"Kali? Wake up, breakfast is ready."

She heard a voice from outside her door. Her mind immediately recognized to whom it belonged to yet she couldn't will her body to move and get the door.

After a few tries and gathering some of her missing strength, she propped her elbow on her side, trying to sit.

"I'm coming in, okay?"

Avery stepped inside her room and saw that she was already up, "Oh, you're awake."

Kali's hair was a little messy and she was wearing a short white dotted black silk pajamas. She tried to stand up but her legs gave away.

Noticing this, Avery bolted to her side and caught her by her shoulders before she could fall on the carpeted floor.

"Hey, are you okay?" Avery asked, her eyebrows furrowed in concern.

"Thanks. Sorry, I'm just really tired right now," Kali said. Her voice sounding quite sore and her body was shivering a little. Avery immediately took note of it.

She placed a hand on her forehead, "Kali, you're burning up."

Kali couldn't help but close her eyes as Avery's cool hand touched her burning skin. She had far missed being taken care of. Her mom used to take care of her.

With a bit of a struggle, Avery carefully placed her back on the bed.

"Avery, thank you," she smiled a little.

Her eyes were halfway open and she tried to not close them. She could feel her body and eyes demanding to rest.

Avery pulled the blanket over Kali's body to keep her warm, "I'll go downstairs for a while, okay? I'll ask Ellis if he has any medicine stored. I'll be right back."

Before the youngest could move, Kali gently grasped her wrist. "I brought medicine with me. It's in my bag, white pouch."

The youngest nodded her head and swiftly went to grabbed the said pouch.

"White pouch, white pouch... aha!"

After finding it, she quickly opened and was surprised to see a lot of medications with unfamiliar names. She took a glance at Kali but it seemed that the girl fell unconscious.

She rummaged inside the pouch, looking for the right medicine but the contents of the pouch made her confused. "Why are there so many painkillers... is she really that sick?" she mumbled out-loud.

"Nilotinib? What the hell is this?" Avery slowly read the labeled yellow vial which contains the capsules, curious as to what the medication is for.

She wanted to looked more into the inside of the pouch but Kali's weak voice stopped her, "Avery?"

It brought her back to the more pressing matter.

"Just a sec!"

"Right, ibuprofen... where is it..." she continued rummaging until she finally found it and promptly helped the eldest in taking the medicine.
