-.--.-..-.-...-After placing a glass of water on the table, Mira sat once again across from Kali.
"I have to say, your ex-boyfriend is quite dumb. No offense," Mira remarked which made Kali pout.
The two were still at the restaurant, taking a break before heading home. It was already late at night but the two didn't seemed to mind.
"He's just... hurt," Kali defended in a small voice. If she were in his position, she might actually do the same thing as Chand did. It's just that she wasn't and that he completely misunderstood that situation.
"Does he even know?"
Kali shook her head and sadly smiled, "He doesn't even look at me, what makes you think he'll listen?"
It was true. All Chand does is ignore her. She did try to approach him a few more times but he never gave her a chance.
Mira could see how much she actually loves her ex. Feeling pity on her coworker, she asked, "Are you okay now though? After what happened..." Mira trailed off, she was afraid that Kali would remember the painful events that happened to her.
Kali shook her head as her eyes once again turned glossy from the unshed tears. That was the first time after the incident that someone asked her about that.
She suddenly felt her walls starting to crumble.
Her mind has been so busy multitasking between academic and work related stuff that she hasn't been able to take a pause and reflect about herself.
"I don't know, Mira. I'm trying to get over it but I don't think I'll be able to do that anytime soon."
Mira's eyebrows furrowed in concern for her coworker. She can't imagine how she must've felt after experiencing something so traumatic.
"I... I know someone. A doctor. He works at a private hospital just two busses from here. Maybe he can help?"
Kali looked at Mira. A look of unknown flashed pass her eyes but Mira didn't know what it meant.
Kali smiled a little, "That's okay, I've had enough of doctors. Also, I kind of hate hospitals."
"Oh... I see." Mira could only sigh after hearing Kali's words. Even if she wanted to help the girl, she couldn't really do anything more than listening to her if Kali herself didn't want to accept the help she's offering.
The two conversed in a few small talks, then decided to call it a night and head home. A feeling of friendship bloomed between the two, one that they hadn't expected.
