Izuku was pretty proud of you. Even your mother was congratulating you, deciding to make your favorite dish. Being honest, it was one of the best days of your life.
You got to eat with your mother happily, no judging glances and worried prying. Just joyful. By the time you went to bed, you wished it lasted even longer.
There was a knock at your door. It was Izuku, probably. You opened the door to see his smiling face as he held up his console.
"Play games? We don't have school tomorrow."
You placed a hand on your hip as you raised a brow with a teasing smile. "Are you sure Mom would approve of this?'
"As long as she doesn't find out, it'll be fine." He made his way into your room, already knowing your final decision.
He set it up as you sneaked into the kitchen to get some snacks. When you returned, he was waiting for you as he sat on pillows. You assumed your spot at the pillows next to him, carefully opening the bag of chips.
Safe to say that you spent the whole night playing video games. Eventually, your mom found out when she found you both passed out, chips scattered everywhere. She got pretty mad and grounded you both by making you and Izuku go outside without any electronics and no naps.
Truly, she knew how to punish you. So you walked around with Izuku, trying to get him to do something else besides look for All Might merch. He was pretty bummed out about it.
As you got a soda from the vending machine for him as an apology, you heard him say, "Ah! Todoroki!"
You immediately grew tense as you quickly threw your hoodie on and pretended you were still plugging in numbers.
"Oh, Midoriya. What are you doing here?"
That damn boy sat down beside him, seeming comfortable for whatever reason. Probably because of what Izuku said to him on the day of the sports festival.
"I'm here with my sister since my mom decided to ground us."
"Huh? Your sister? You mean her?" Shoto pointed at you as you were crouching, trying to make yourself small.
"Ah, yes. Although she's acting a bit weird."
You sighed, grabbing the sodas from the vending machine as you put in another dollar. Hopefully he'd be willing to not freeze you because of what you told him the other day.
As you grabbed the third soda, Izuku had already moved on topics with Shoto. You wondered when he suddenly got social skills. You gave Izuku his, gathering the courage to give Shoto one.
He took it with a grateful nod. You sat down beside Izuku, drinking your own drink.
"Also, about that day, what did you mean about a big ego?"
You choked on your drink, coughing as you spat it out. "W-what do you mean? Hahaha, I'm not sure I know what you're talking about..."
"Yes you do-"
You tugged Shoto out of his seat, dragging him away so Izuku didn't listen.
"Are you so straightforward by nature? Jeez."
"Straightforward? I don't like beating about the bush. So what did you mean?"
"Ugh...I said what I said. You have such a big ego. You think you're all that and stuff. Try being humble."
"You say that but I could probably freeze you to death in a second."
You dramatically gasped, "that's not what a hero should say! How disgraceful!"
