45. Powerful Obsession

Today was the provisional licencing exam. Today was the day you officially and legally were able to use your quirk in public. Although you already could, it wasn't fair to everyone else.

You sat beside Izuku on the bus, your head on his shoulder as you scrolled on your phone. He stared out the window, trying to calm his nerves. He found your presence calming.

He knew that if anything were to happen, you'd look after him first. It was reassuring, as much as he hated relying on you. Not that you weren't reliant. He didn't want to be a bother.

You fell asleep on the way there, making the trip feel shorter. Upon arrival, Mr. Aizawa encouraged everyone to do their best. Even M*neta.

That was, until students from other schools came to greet your classmates. You watched from the side with bored eyes.

You were very anxious to get started. You were probably one of the most powerful, if not, the most powerful person there. Your hero costume was pretty bland so you didn't stick out a lot.

No one probably knew who you were. Usually, you didn't use your hero costume because of the restricted time limit.

"Oh! You look very familiar!" The guy who called himself Yo Shindo exclaimed as he strode towards you.

"You yourself, don't look very familiar."

He bursted with laughter, holding out his hand. "I'm Yo Shindo, nice to meet you!"

"(Y/n) Midoriya, a pleasure." You shook his hand. "Don't get carried away with my classmates."

He grinned. "I like you already. Why don't we team up, (Y/n) Midoriya? My girlfriend and I would be delighted to have you on our team!"

"As much as I hate pulling this card and how I hate that I seem arrogant, my quirk is overpowered. It wouldn't be fair to everyone else."

Yo narrowed his eyes. "U.A. sure does have interesting people."

"They do, don't they?" A grand tension between the two of you formed. "I can promise you, I'm not being arrogant. I'll only do what is required of the test and then get my license."

"Hah. Ego talk. I'll come after you if you're not too careful." He smiled that flashy "friendly" smile.

"I'll come after YOU if you fuck around and find out."

Yo grinned. "I definitely like you."

"I definitely don't want to be near you."

He retreated to his girlfriend, who was waiting for him. "Just know, that offer is still standing. Just until I have to fight you."

Never.

You sighed, feeling gushy inside. You were tired from interacting with other students already. That experience(the Ito incident) seriously took a toll on you. You still got nightmares.

It didn't help that Katsuki had rejected you and smashed your heart into tiny fragments of sand. You'd get over it eventually, just not now.

Another school approached your classmate, this dude named Inasa Yoarashi especially stood out. He was respectful but loud. He didn't seem to be a bad person. Though he did seem to hold a grudge against Shoto.

You caught Inasa's eye. "I KNOW YOU!"

You jolted from his loud voice. He stomped up to you with a grin and his eyes shining with admiration. Being honest, it was refreshing to see someone who didn't want to harm you and was straight forward.

"You're the powerful girl, aren't you?! You're so cool when you rescue so many people at once! I wanna be like you!"

Your cheeks became warm with his words. "Thank you. Those are the best compliments I could ever hear. I will strive to become a better influence."
