Ren Takahashi was on the verge of tears. After ten years, she was on her second run of cleaning the abandoned underground. Still, she continued to clean.

Hawks would sometimes visit, feeding her scraps of food. She cried as she scarfed them down. Ren was broken down to a lonesome woman with no power.

She found cleaning a mindless task. She would spend days without a thought in her head. She cleaned and cleaned and cleaned.

"Forgive me." Ren cried as she wiped the floors. "Please forgive me."

It was pathetic.

Ren scrubbed and scrubbed, her knees scraped and her arms lanky and tired.

"I forgive you."

Came a voice. She didn't know where it was from but her collar snapped off. She stared at the collar for what seemed like hours.

"I forgive you."

Came the voice again and she bowed her head. "Thank you."

Ren cried and sobbed for hours before she got to her feet and stepped out into her freedom. The sun beamed down at her, urging her to start anew.

And she did, starting with volunteering at a local pet shelter.
