11. Cruel Awakening [TW]

The written exam was over.

Izuku felt relief, stretching his body to relive his stiff bones. He relaxed, laying his head on his desk. He hoped he'd get a good grade. After all, he studied hard for this.

Without (Y/n).

He couldn't help but feel a bit...replaced. You didn't come to him when you needed help studying. You came to Katsuki.

It's been on his mind since then.

He wondered, was he becoming invaluable to you?

No, that couldn't be. He was jumping to conclusions, he concluded. He was always paranoid about his relationship with you but you always seemed to reassure him that you would always stick by him.

He'd always thought you'd get sick and tired of protecting him, but you never did. Again, he was grateful to have you as his sister. He always felt like he was in debt, so he tried everything to make your life better, or rather, attempted.

However, you were as cold as ever, sometimes threatening him. He knew you didn't hate him but he couldn't help but feel a bit sad you were treating him like you treated everyone else. He knew better than to undermine your love for him, however.

He just wanted to know why you weren't relying on him anymore.

"Deku! How do you think you did on the exam?!" Ochako bounced over to him, a big smile on her face.

"Ah, I'm not sure. I'm just hoping I get a good grade." He smiled, feeling that relief washing over him again.

"I can't wait to get home and rest! I'm so mentally tired..." She complained, sighing.

"Me too. I wonder what (Y/n) is feeling right now." Izuku thought to himself, not intending for Ochako to hear.

However, she replied, "Knowing her, she's probably relieved that the exam is over."

"Maybe. Or maybe she's stressing over it. She usually gets anxious about test results so she's probably even more anxious right now."

"Oh, really? She doesn't seem like someone who stresses over things..."

Now that the bell rang, signaling lunch time, Izuku immediately stood. He had to check on you. However, you had already opened the door, your gaze landing on Izuku.

Izuku blinked, processing the fact that you came searching for him, not the other way around. He brightened, a grin plastered on his face. You stepped in, heading straight towards him before softly bumping your head against his shoulder.

He smiled, patting your head. "Don't worry, I'm sure you did fine. Afterall, you studied with Kacchan."

Or maybe he was wrong. You did still rely on him. Ochako internally screamed, finding that you relying on Izuku for comfort was cute.

"I hope I did." You mumbled. "I'm so tired."

"You can take a nap!" Izuku offered his desk, taking his uniform jacket off. "You can use this as a pillow."

You sat down, splayed your arms over his desk, and slept. He left for a moment to get food with his friends and returned, surrounding you and spoke in hushed voices. Izuku had to wake you up so that you could eat before you went back to sleep.

Once his friend group was done eating, they decided to study with the time the school had left them. Students could either go home or study for the rest of the school day.
