Have fun while you still can ◉‿◉

You didn't go to school the next day.

Too afraid to even look at your twin, you told Katsuki you'd stay back at the dorms. He wanted to stay with you but you forced him to go.

He complained about it but with a few encouraging words, he went with his trusted friend, Kirishima.

And you stayed behind, tucked in your bed. You didn't want to eat anything. You didn't have any motivation. You just couldn't. Worst of all, even if you tried to die, you couldn't.

It was a kind of hell that you couldn't escape from. Just a few days ago you were doing fine. You were healing. You were loving yourself.

For the first time, you had finally felt peace.

Oh, no.

Some kind of powerful being put you here, in this place. Or maybe it was you. Maybe it was fate.

Maybe you were destined to be like this. A payment for your overpowered quirk. Your suffering in exchange with your suffering.

When will it be over? Not sure.

There was a knock at your door.

You opened it, surprised to see All Might. You quickly shut the door, your heart pumping faster.

"(Y/n), I know you're feeling guilty but we don't blame you. It's not your fault." All Might's voice was muffled.

The screams, the wailing, the distorted face...it was so overwhelming. All of that, you caused.

"Take deep breaths, (Y/n)." He spoke through the door. "No one thinks it's your fault. He said that it was inevitable, fate would not allow it."

You sat on the floor, covering your nose with your hands. Breathe. Calm down.

"Open the door, (Y/n). I only want to help you," There was the sound of a plastic bag, "I brought you some treats. We can eat them together."

Treats?

"I have your favorite snacks. We can watch a movie. We can play games. Anything you'd like. Just open the door for me, okay?"

Very slowly, you stood up. You gulped down your tears and the ball in your throat. At the pace of a snail, you opened the door. All Might stood there, a small smile on his face.

"You're a good child." He waited until you opened the door further for him to go through it.

He stepped inside, sitting on your bed. You cautiously sat on the other end of the bed, too ashamed to look at him.

"I have different kinds of treats. I have this..."

As he rummaged through the bag, you suddenly started to cry. You couldn't stop it. Shameful for failing your father figure, shameful for killing his friend, shameful for being so pathetic, shameful, shameful, shameful.

All Might frowned as he saw that you were crying again. That weighing guilt was never going to leave unless you forgave yourself.

"(Y/n), look at me."

You shook your head.

"I know you think that I'm disappointed in you. I don't hate you. I don't regret calling you to the hospital. I don't regret meeting you. For the past twenty years, the thing I'm most thankful for, is you."

He gently grabbed your hand and massaged it. You stared down at his bony fingers, skinny and old.

"Had I not met you, I wouldn't have known what it was like having a daughter. Or what true kindness meant. Or what having someone care for you meant. You were always so rough and yet you, by far, cared the most about other people. The true heart of a hero."

Your lips quivered as fresh new tears stung your eyes. He gently patted your head, waiting patiently for you to stop crying. You'd wish you could stop crying. You wanted to be strong, where no one can hurt you.

And maybe, in a certain universe, you might've been normal. Quirkless or with a weaker quirk. Happy.

"Young Midoriya is worried about you. He doesn't blame you at all for what happened. You did not kill anyone. You will never kill anyone."

You succumbed to his hug, allowing yourself to become vulnerable to the man you now called father. The past pro hero may not be a hero to Japan anymore but he was to you. That was enough for him to be called a hero.

The time of healing was slow and painful. After everything that had happened, you stayed mostly in your room with Katsuki. Sometimes Izuku visited to help with your healing.

Sometimes he brought this small girl you grew attached to. Mostly because you could understand the harsh burdens of trauma. She clung to you whenever she could.

Having someone who could understand her, she was understood even without words. One look and you knew when she was uncomfortable. One look was enough.

And Eri hugged you whenever she caught you shedding a tear. It was a mutual relationship. Time moved slow.

It was calming. Slow and steady. Not fast. Not too fast to cause your head to spin. Thinking back upon the death you may have caused.

Thinking about the inevitable death of Sir Nighteye. What he saw. Why he called you a monster. In the back of your head, you knew you would someday succumb to darkness.

Or lose your sanity, whichever comes first.
