Zayn's P.O.V.

Family and friends formed a crowd in the living room, surprising Perrie, and actually it surprised me too. I hadn't planned a party at all.

"Thanks guys." Perrie said happily.

"Congratulations on the engagement." Mom said, hugging us.

"Thank you." Perrie and I said. "How'd you all get in here?" I asked.

"You have me to thank for that." Harry came from the crowd.

"Harry!?" I said. "I thought you weren't coming back until tomorrow."

"There was a change in plans. Besides, I didn't want to miss anything."

"What about your mom?" I asked.

"She's here too." Harry said. I turned to Perrie.

"What do you think?" I asked.

"Of?" She questioned.

"The house, what do you think?" I asked. She looked around, going to the kitchen. I handed Jasper to mom, asking her to feed him, and I walked into the kitchen.

"Zayn..." She said.

"Yeah." I replied.

"This is beautiful. Is this where you've been living?" She asked.

"Well, yeah." I said. "But what you see now, it's all new, not just to you but to me as well."

"What do you mean?" She asked softly.

"I redecorated everything." I told her. "All while you were in the hospital, the week you had to stay."

"You got all this done that fast?" She asked.

"Well, actually I had a lot of help." I laughed slightly.

"It's perfect, Zayn. Thank you." She said, wrapping her arms around me. I hugged her back.

"You haven't seen all of it yet." I said.

"I know, but I know the rest is beautiful too." She told me.

"Do you want to see my study?" I asked.

"You have a study room?" She laughed.

"I like to read." I said.

"Of course I want to see it." She said. She let go of me, grabbing my hand and we walked to the living room.

"I'll meet you up there, give me a second." I said.

"Okay." She replied, going upstairs to look for the study. I walked over to mom, who sat feeding Jasper.

"She's going upstairs." I said.

"Oh, yeah I know why." Mom smiled. "I'm so proud of you."

"Why? I haven't really done much." I replied.

"I'm proud of the person you've turned out to be." She said.

"Thanks." I smiled.

"You're raising a beautiful baby, have a beautiful fiancee, and you have your life together." She said.

"Thanks, but there was a lot of help to get me here." I said. "If I didn't have a mom like you, I don't know where I'd be."

"So, why are you down here?" Mom asked.

"Just wai-" I was cut off.

"ZAYN!" Perrie yelled. I stood up, going up the stairs.

"What is it?" I asked, trying my best to sound frantic.
