Zayn's P.O.V.
( October 21st, 10:05 Pm )I just heard some not-so-delightful news from Perrie. She ran into Louis and he threatened her. She told me not to go to the police about it, and to be honest, I couldn't understand why. He threatened her and she doesn't want to do anything about it.
"He won't do anything. He wouldn't hurt anyone. There's no point to cause problems, okay?" she had said to me. I argued back, trying to explain to her I wasn't the one causing problems. I didn't see what she was getting at. "Just don't make anything worst!" She ran up the stairs and slammed the door, Jasper looking at me with fun eyes, not having the slightest clue what was going on.
I picked Jasper up, rocking him slightly as I walked to put him to sleep. I already fed him before Perrie told me what happened so he was ready to sleep. His eyes drooped closed and his breath evened out. Slowly, gently, I laid him in his crib, putting the blanket over him. I kissed him on the cheek and left the room, the door pulled slightly ajar.
I slept on the couch, sure Perrie didn't want me in the room.
The next morning when I woke up, Perrie and Jasper were gone. I rolled my eyes. Not this again. No note. No nothing. I called her number. When I heard the ring coming from upstairs, I hung up, shaking my head. She left the house and her phone. Was she really upset that I said I would report Louis? Why was she protecting him? We made vowels. Not them.
After getting ready for work, I took a piece of paper and wrote her a note telling her where I'd be. When I finished I left it on the counter next to the coffee pot. I grabbed my keys, my jacket, and left the house.
________
"I just don't understand, Harry." I put my head in my hands, frustrated. After work I went to get some coffee with Harry because I needed to rant.
"Maybe she doesn't want to see either of you in jail." Harry shrugged.
"She shouldn't care about him. She's not married to him. She's married to me. I should matter. He threatened her." I kept my voice down.
"I agree with you, but maybe she still cares about him. Don't overthink this. If she wanted him she wouldn't be with you. I believe you're all she cares about," Harry said, sipping his black coffee. He stirred it some more.
"She doesn't do a lot to show it. She left the house this morning with Jasper." I shook my head.
"What's bad about that?" He quirked an eyebrow.
"She left her phone and didn't tell me where she went," I said, drinking a big gulp of coffee.
"You're definitely overthinking. Maybe she forgot her phone and wanting to get some fresh air." Harry was being very persistent that nothing was going on.
"Okay, and what if she was with Louis?" The frustration flowed away from my voice and nothing was left but dead seriousness.
"I doubt she was with him. Why would she go to him just because you argued, and right after he threatened her?"
"I think the real question is, why would she not go to him? She's done plenty of times before. Nothing seems to faze her and it's annoying. She should be afraid of him but she's not." I shifted in my seat, resting my head in my hand.
"I think her cheating days are over." I didn't answer. I just sat there with my eyes locked on my coffee. "Zayn, do you want me to be blunt, honest and upfront with you?" he asked.
"Please," I said.
"Okay. If she's cheating on you again then this time you leave her, and when you do, you do it forever. Don't let her come back, and don't go back to her. She's not worth your time if she's going to keep treating you like this, and obviously she doesn't care. So just leave her. Vowels or not, she broke everyone of them when she kissed him. You have every right to leave her, forever."
I let his words sink in before replying. "Okay."
"I'm serious. If she really did run off to him, you need to leave her. Don't let tears or pleads win you over." His eyes were serious.
"I know, I know."
"Oh, and if she does cheat again, when you leave her, you take Jasper from her. If she tries to tell you you can't take him, then you take her to court. You'll win." He shrugged, organizing the sugars in the holster on the table.
"Okay. Thanks." He nodded.
"That's what friends are for." We left the diner. It was 7:58 PM. when we left. "Alright. Well, I'm gonna head home. See you, mate."
"Take care," I said. He called back a "you too" and I got into my car. For a few minutes, I just sat there, thinking about everything Harry said. A part of me didn't want to find out the truth, but a big part of me wanted to know the truth. I wanted to feel relief but not pain. I felt both if it were true, and I only felt relief if it weren't.
I began the drive home, calling Perrie's phone. It rang three times before sending me to voicemail. Pressing the end button, I sigh. She couldn't still be gone, could she?
I pulled into the driveway of the house, turning the engine off and getting out. Walking up to the front door, I stopped, realizing Perrie's car was in the driveway. So she was just ignoring me.
I unlocked the door and opened it. Jasper was crying so loudly it was like he was screaming.. Worriedly I walked into the house, stopping dead in my tracks.
I looked down realizing the squishy, liquid feeling underneath my shoes. My heart began to pound as I realized I'd been standing in a pool of blood.
