Zayn's P.O.V.
( July 4th, 4:10 PM )Buckling Jasper in his carseat, I closed the back door and hopped into the driver's seat, adjusting my mirrors. Dean climbed into the back seat beside Jasper, and buckled his seatbelt. Perrie was already in the passenger seat.
Perrie was dressed in skin-tight blue jeans, rips in the knee, a white blouse, and her brown boots. Her hair was pulled up into a high ponytail, and she had light makeup on her face. Dean wore a deep red V-neck, black jeans, and white sneakers. His hair was styled in a quiff, pointing in many different directions.
"Are we all ready?" I asked, popping some gum into my mouth. I gained two 'yes'' and backed out of the driveway, driving onto the road.
When we got to the fair/rodeo we had to do something to occupy out time, because the gates weren't opening until 6 o'clock. So, we had two whole hours to do something interesting while we waited. Obviously, the fair was out of option due to the fact the gate was closed.
"Any suggestions?" I asked, looking around. There were a couple of things we could do outside the gates. We could've left and went to the park a few blocks down, but it took us awhile to get in because of the long car-wait.
"I think we should just talk while we wait," Perrie said, shrugging her shoulders, Jasper on her hip.
"Okay," I said. We started a conversation about politics, which carried on to old memories between the three of us, then it began a sappy conversation about lost pets, which turned into good memories like the day Jasper came into my life, and the day Perrie woke up. So, the conversation lasted for awhile before we took our spots in line.
"Where's Harry?" Perrie asked.
"I don't know, he said they had to take care of some things, and they'll meet us here." I looked around, trying to see if I could catch Harry anywhere, but to no avail.
"I need to ask Caraline a question." She laughs awkwardly. Forcing away the temptation to give her an eye roll, I turned to Dean.
"So, are you still single?"
"You said that so harsh!" He joked. "Yeah, I'm still single." He shook his head, laughing at how ridiculous that sounds to him.
"Eh, she's waiting for you...somewhere," I said.
"I'll probably just stay single." He shrugged.
"No, you're still young. You have to be patient." I pursed my lips, running a hand through my hair.
He laughed. "I swear, you make it sound like you're so old."
"Older than you."
"Truth be told," he said, nodding in agreement.

Finally, the gates had opened, allowing us to enter. We stopped at the security guards at the gate, and they ordered Perrie to give them her purse. They unzipped it and scanned the inside, smiling at her. "You're clear." They gave her purse back and we walked in. I put my hand on the mid of her back as we walked through the crowd of people, my other hand holding Dean by his elbow as to not lose him. Jasper was in Perrie's arms, so I didn't have to worry much about losing him...unless I managed to somehow lose Perrie. We reached the stairs to go up to our seats on the bleachers. They were incredibly high up, and I could already feel the terror running down my spine. Everyone knew I didn't do well with heights, so I was scared by the height. Our seats were literally two rows down from the very top of the bleachers.
