Zayn's P.O.V.
( Nov. 1st )

It hadn't felt that long. A whole week has already gone by, and life hasn't been the same. I live in this dark, empty despair. It seemed as though this sadness was eternal because I couldn't smile anymore. No one could get me to smile.

Perrie's funeral was in a few days. About two. Maybe. Her killer hasn't been found yet, and I'm worried he may not be. They said they questioned Louis about the entire thing. Apparently he had a solid alibi. I wasn't buying it. He had something to do with it, and I knew he did. I planned on proving it. I don't know how to prove it, but I know I will prove it.

It's 7:42 AM right now, and I was shuffling through some papers on my desk. I was reading through business papers to take my mind off of everything. I couldn't work under all the stress. I'd taken time off and have been away for a week. I needed to mourn, and at the same time, I needed to not mourn. I was looking for information earlier. Maybe Harry could help. He knew Louis.

After thirty minutes of no luck getting Perrie off my mind, I took Jasper and left the apartment. I brought him to my moms house.

"Zayn, come here," Waliyha ushers me into her arms, holding on tightly. "It's okay, big brother," she said.

"Thanks. I'll be fine though. I guess there's nothing I can do about it anymore," I said, sighing after the fact. She pulled away and gave me a sympathetic smile before heading off with Safaa to the other room. Jasper was in his stroller as I walked to the kitchen where mom was pouring herself a glass of orange juice. "Do you mind watching him for a bit?"

"Of course I don't mind. You look like you could use some rest." She smiled as she took Jasper from the stroller, holding him to her chest. "I'll watch him for as long as you need me too." This takes me all the way back to the time when I lost my job, after Perrie left me. Mom was there for me the entire time, welcoming me with open arms. She's here again, and with the same open heart as last time, which causes me to think of the same phrase as I had then; she's always there for me, that's what moms do. Stay there for their kids.

"Thank you so much, mom." She pulled me into her arms, not tightly because she still held Jasper, but warm nevertheless. I smiled and went on my way.

Pulling into the parking lot outside of a small diner, I shut off the engine and got out of the car. The cold air blew harshly in my face, mist escaping my nose as I breathed. It was a very cold day, which was weird. It seemed that the weather changed cruel after Perrie's murder, but that probably wasn't the case.

I walked into the diner and looked around the small place. The walls were a nice light wood, straight up and down, with a peach-red boarder in the middle. The bar was a nice deep red wood with black at the very bottom, circling it, and the top was marble black. The floor was black and white checkers. The tables were all booths, and there was seven of them, enough to fit four people in each.

My eyes fell on Harry and I walked to the booth he was sat at. With a smile wave, I sat in the booth across from him, putting my business case beside me at the window.

"Good afternoon, Zayn. What did you need to talk to me about?" he asked. I found myself in this very position too many times. I always asked Harry for advice, always at a diner. It became a tradition.

I sat for a minute and just reminisced on all the times Harry and I sat in a diner and talked about Perrie, and what to do. The time I asked how to win her heart back because she was falling out of love with me...and he always had the same answer. "If she stays, it was meant to be, otherwise, it was never meant to be and you don't need her." Harry's famous advice.

"I need to ask you about Louis. I think he had something to do with Perrie's murder." I spoke after a long sigh.

"Why do you think that?" His eyes were circles as he stared dumbfounded at me, his coffee mug in his hands.

"He made a threat one day." I told him about the talk he had with Perrie the might she went to pick up dinner, and he sat confused. He didn't know what to say as he sat swirling his spoon around in his coffee.

"Well. What do you need to know, then?" He finally spoke after a few minutes of silence.

"Does he anger issues?" I asked, seriously, unsure.

"Eh, he could get mad easily on some occasions. It was always Louis' way or the high way, pretty much. If you didn't want to do what he wanted to do, then basically he would say whatever and go on without you. That's how he was. He had a girlfriend, I'm sure you remember him mentioning before, and one day I'd asked why I haven't heard about her in a while. He said that they had a fight and broke up. I went on to ask why he hadn't told me, and he said it wasn't important. Still, I've heard nothing from her. I called and got no response. Apparently my name came up in the argument and she didn't want to talk to me, that's what Louis told me." Harry told me his long story and I just sat and listened.

"Thanks."

We talked for a longer time, about other things, and later Caraline came to join us. The three of us had an okay time, I'd say.
