Chapter 4: Lurking

Priscilla was called out to The Divided. It was the border between the three realm. All her crimes were read out to her. She nodded listening to each one. She didn't object to any of the allegations. This got Payu and Prapai worked up. They were seated at their respective Realms. One thing about a Lord's Council, no matter how powerful one was, he or she was never to interfere in a Council. Prapai and Payu knew this so they were gritting their teeth in annoyance. She was to be set free because her only crime was telling a human about herself and sleeping with them. That didn't warrant a grave crime. But seated on the judgement seat was Moss. Moss was Priscilla's lover but he made so many demeaning statements to her that made her end the relationship. Payu and Prapai knew this and avoided any confrontation between the both of them. He was later assigned to Lord Council. Seated with Six other councillors. His power was ruthless and unchanging. They both noticed something that made them uncomfortable. When it was time to hear the case and he saw it was Priscilla, he smiled.
This made both boys blood boil
She was to get a fair hearing until Moss spoke
“ Kill her and let her petals be spread to all three Realms reminding everyone that you can never always have your way.”

Payu was still nervously shaking on the floor as he closed his eyes to sleep again. He was deeply touched by Rain’s action. He knew he had a lot of explaining to do but it didn't bother him for now. In so long he had been tormented. It was the first time he felt relieved with someone by his side. They both slept like that till morning. Payu woke up first. He got the food ready and Rain found himself on a sofa, sleeping soundly. He smiled looking at him, when he caught himself smiling he had to shake it off. The restaurant was quite big, behind it was a building with two floors. Payu needed to keep this man close to himself because he needed to protect him as much as he could. He was to find the right way to tell him to stay at the lower floor of the building. When Rain eventually woke up, there was a meal waiting for him. This made him happy he quickly went to wash his face. He was to return home to brush and do other things before he came back for the interview with new workers.
Payu ate nervously. He didn't understand himself at all. He was getting so worked up over a small issue. The thought that Rain would reject his offer came to his mind several times but but he shook it off, after they had finished eating and were in the process of washing plates, Payu finally asked “ I hope where you stay is quite comfy?”  Rain turned to look at Payu who was inches away from his face and said
“ It's okay but then rent is quite expensive and coming from there all the way here would be quite a hassle but I'll manage.”
“ Okay, what if I tell you I have an offer for you. I have a building at the back of this restaurant, it's just a stone throw away and I would like if you stayed there. It's well furnished, I will be staying at the top floor. I know we just met, but I really need your help. ”
For the first time in Rain’s life, someone was willing to help him without asking for anything else. He was skeptical, but since he met Payu yesterday only good things have been happening to him. Maybe he was his guardian angel . He didn't say anything and  hurried away he had gotten to the door before Payu called his name “ Rain, where are you going? You didn't even answer my question. Is it a yes or no?”
“ I think I'm using all my life's luck in one day so I'm not letting this opportunity go away, I'm going to get my things, I'll be back before twelve. Please wait for me.” This got Payu sold already. Rain waved at him and left. Payu called a furniture company to completely furnish the house and promised to pay extra if they finished on time. By eight, they were already there. The furnishing was for both houses. He got the best of everything. They finished by eleven and left. Rain returned by one. Payu helped him put his things in place. When Rain got into the apartment. He was stunned. He knew if he worked for thirty years he would still be unable to pay for the apartment. After setting everything up, he turned to Payu and asked, “ how do I pay back, in kind or kind? because I can't pay in cash.”  Payu stepped closer to him backing Rain up to the wall
“ What can you give me?”
Rain tried acting sexy and failed woefully at it
“ Are you trying to be... sexy by any chance?” Rain nodded and Payu burst out laughing till he fell to the ground. Rain was completely taken aback by this.
Payu regained composure and stood up “ if you keep making me laugh heartily like this, then your payment is complete.”
“ how long do I have to make you laugh for, a year, two, three, twenty.”
“ till I am fine. Rain, take the keys today.
the apartment, it's yours.”
Payu walked away. Leaving Rain motionless and in awe. Rain fixed up the apartment to his taste.
The next day they both went to get supplies for the store, they also did interviews. A week later the restaurant was opened with a lot of customers. It really was a grand opening as the food was delicious and the service was exquisite. The location of the shop was strategic as it was a popular street. Bringing in all types of customers. After it was all over, Rain and Payu were left. They counted their profit. Rain was laughing he turned to look at Payu and asked “ Can I hug you?”
Payu was also ecstatic so he opened his hands and Rain found his way in. Payu bent his head after receiving Rain. He reached out and touched his hair and smiled. He pushed him away quickly “ that's enough, we have work, I mean sleep to do?” He walked quickly out of the shop to his house. He ran his hands through his hair, no one ever came close at least this close. Payu was losing his guard and he didn't like it at all.
