Chapter 13: You're Hilarious

It was a Saturday and the shop was not going to open today. Payu had told everyone to take a day off. In the four of them, the first person to wake up was Rain. His back ached from the constant carrying of Payu. He made hot tea and a soup. He was about to get ready for work until he remembered it was a day off, so he gently went back to bed. Payu was sleeping soundly after all the havoc he had caused him. He couldn't help himself and stared at him. Payu was really handsome. He had a well defined face and body proportions that could make anyone swoon. The same was with Prapai, but they both had different charming points. Rain was inches from his face. He examined him like something he had never seen before. Payu sneezed and Rain quickly faced the other side of his pillow pretending to be asleep. Payu didn't even wake up so Rain jumped for nothing. He turned back to look at him again, his heart thumped as he looked at him. He threw himself off the bed and went for a jog. He needed to get his mind off him. He didn't want to appear desperate, at least not to Payu who had constantly belittled his feelings. Rain stopped at a certain point and bought food. He jogged back home to see Payu sitting up wondering how he ended up in his apartment. Rain got a jump scare and nearly shouted seeing him seated on the bed the way he was.
Rain went towards the kitchen, put the soup in the microwave and got water in a glass for him, there was so much he wanted to say to him but he considered what was in front of him as more important. He sat there and remembered everything, every little detail of what he said. Rain could tell he did because the look he gave him was different. His eyes were widened and he was showing signs of fear, like he had been discovered for something. Payu knew he couldn't escape the situation so he went with denial
" Rain, look into my eyes, yesterday didn't happen, it was a figment of your imagination...I..." Before he could finish, Rain lashed back " if you want to wipe last night from my memory, make sure you wipe yourself off as well." Rain was serious with the threat as his face looked stern
" P'Payu, I'll just ask you one question, and whatever you say will determine what I'll do next moving forward." Payu nodded so that Rain could ask his question, whatever it was. Payu began to fidget a bit. Either from fear or nervousness, either way he was going to know his fate today
" Do you like me Phi?" Payu nodded " so why did you do what you did? humiliating me, making me feel heartbroken. So when you like someone, you treat them the way you like?"
" Rain, it's nothing like that I just thought... Nevermind."
" You're doing it again, leaving me in the dark. It's fine. Just take the soup."

At the other house, they had their fair share of unforgettable moments as Prapai ended up sleep walking like a ghost in the night. Sky dragged him back into the room several times, until he was fed up and tied him up. By the time he woke up, Sky was deeply asleep on the floor beside him with dark circles under his eyes. Pai saw he was restricted with duct tape, wondering what happened last night. He took it off, gently carried Sky and placed him on the bed. His memories were a bit distorted but he felt something important happened last night but he couldn't quite remember. He went downstairs and checked the time, it was already 11am in the morning. He went to make some coffee and drank it. He sat down in the palour, desperately trying to remember what had happened, but he was failing at it. Some minutes later, Sky came downstairs. As Prapai heard his feet, he stood up and swiftly went to where Sky was. He greeted him first, then asked " what happened last night, I woke up this morning with duct tape." Sky completely ignored him after putting him through what he did last night. After Sky drank the coffee, he turned to look at Prapai, who was sticking closely to him while being shirtless, and he said " for the whole of today, can I just be left alone, I think with what happened yesterday, we have spent too much time being in each other's personal spaces, so for today, P'Pai, shift back." Sky squeezed his way between the kitchen slab and P'Pai's sexy body. When he was out of sight of him, he put his hand on his lips and whispered,
" If there's anything you have to forget, it's fine, but let it just not be last night." Over the course of the day, P'Pai stayed close to Sky, trying to get information from him about how last night went. It was all to no avail as Sky kept his mouth sealed. Sky was truly starting to feel distraught by all of this and felt he needed space. He called Rain and told him he needed someone to talk to, Rain obliged happily because he also wanted to get away from the building. After him an Payu had spoken, he gave him the soup to drink and sent him back to his apartment. He stayed a bit, making sure he bathed and still made food for him to eat. Rain didn't even respond to him when he said "Rain, can we talk about this." Or " Rain, please try to understand things from my perspective." There was no perspective to Rain because to him, Payu was just being cynical and didn't really care about him at all. Rain was pissed and stormed off to his own room. The major reason he was so upset with himself was the fact that through all this, he still felt something for Payu and it pained him, so when Sky's call came him, he was happy, as it would be an avenue for him to pour out his heart. After the incident with Moss, Sky and Rain became very close. They found comfort in each other, as they were both going through life changing persons that altered everything about their lives. It was easy for them to talk about it because they both related to the struggle.
Rain didn't even tell Payu where he was going and just left the house. Sky found Prapai sleeping on the couch and placed a sticky note on his forehead.
When they arrived at the restaurant, they ordered food and once they were done eating, they both began to rant about Payu and Prapai. From the conversation, they knew that Payu and Prapai, drank together. Then Sky spilled the beans " Payu likes you." This was a shocker to Rain as he didn't tell Sky what was happening, so how did he know?
" P'Pai told me, he was heavily drunk yesterday, but he told me and I believe him."
" Payu told me as well."
" That's good news, it's something you wanted, isn't it?" Rain's face had a frown and Sky read the room immediately " Varain, what's wrong?"
" He's been torturing me, he knows I like him first and clearly doesn't want to accept my feelings, so he treats me the way he does." Sky also was visibly upset by this revelation, and when Rain told him everything, Sky clenched his fist. Rain looked very innocent and kind hearted too to be treated the way he was. Sky had a plan, and told it to Sky, they were going to execute it and needed to return back home, to see the results.
Rain got home and called a moving agency in front of Payu's door, and told them to come get his things as he would be leaving in no time. He went back in, brought out boxes and began placing things inside. Payu ran to his room and knocked on his door. Rain opened and said " do you want to help me move?" Payu checked around and saw the boxes. Rain was really serious this time "but I told you not to leave."
" P'Payu, I think I truly became a bone stuck in your throat that was difficult to swallow or spit out. So it's best I go, so you wouldn't have to deal with me constantly nagging and begging for attention. I'm sure there is someone out there who would accept me for who I am."
" Rain, I accept you for who you are, can you stop packing so we can talk."
" P'Payu, if you don't remember, I do, you're in love with a girl called Priscilla, who I'm sure, died that a hundred years ago. Payu, why don't you want to let yourself be happy. It might not be from me, but I really want you to be, even if it is from someone else." This statement touched Payu. He walked over to Rain, held his shoulders and said
" because you're human. Because you can die, because you are fragile, because I don't know what I'll be if I'm with you. I'm already someone else now, talk less of when I'm with you. I'd end up sacrificing everything for you. I already am. Rain, I promised myself that I wouldn't fall for anyone, but here I am in love with you." He pushed Rain to seat on the couch behind them and told him " Priscilla was actually in love with me as well, she told me several times, but I trivialized it. Prapai adviced me to make a move but I joked with it, turning her from pillar to post. Looking back, I was really a heartless scum. Eventually, she left me when she was made the human realm Protector. Prapai begged me to tell her I liked her too. He saw right through me, but I ignored him. I never visited her in the human realm, feeling it would be better that way. She was brought to a Lord's Council and killed because she fell in love with the wrong person. Rain, I really can't afford to lose another person the way I lost her, and it terrifies me. I want to stick with you, but at who's expense? Rain, I really like you, sincerely, but I'm scared." It was finally out. The reason Payu was behaving the way he was; He was scared. Rain wrapped his hand around Payu, not wanting to let him go. Payu had dropped his defences, reciprocating the hug. He let his head drop into his shoulders. He wanted to melt into his arms.
Sky drove to a certain point and got a message on his phone from his ex. He contemplated going, but in the end, turned his car around and went towards the destination of the message. He forgot to even text Prapai of his change of plans. Prapai woke up and saw the sticky note on his forehead which read "I'll be hanging out with Rain, I'll be back in a jiffy, please cook." He smiled and got right into it. Three hours later he wasn't back. He called but all he could hear was user busy. He called Payu who gave the phone to Rain " Sky went out with you, where is he?" Rain stood up immediately, he could sense something was wrong
" We parted ways three hours ago, he said he had a bone to pick with you. I can't believe he's not home yet. Have you called him?"
" Yes, it's unavailable."
" P'Pai, I feel something is wrong, please find him. If you need help, call us." Prapai hung up the call and brought out his eternal rope. As he was about to mention his name, a message entered his phone. " I'll kill him if you don't give us what we want." Attached to it was the address. Prapai called his name Sky and the eternal rope found him and wrapped itself around his waist. Sky could see it,but no other person could. He knew Prapai was coming and he smiled. He was seated with his hands tied. His ex wanted to extort money from Prapai unknown to him that he was digging his own grave.
Prapai flew pretty fast. Which made onlookers think it was a shooting star. As he kept going, his mind replayed everything that had transpired the previous day. He remembered and said " I really do like you Sky." On arriving, the people saw an angel like figure. Prapai was going to tear them to shreds, then he remembered he shouldn't use Carityl tactics on them, so he began by decapitating them, limb from limb. His ex got scared and told Prapai to step back. He came with his human form. Prapai just kept walking. Till the ex turned around, looking for what to buy himself time so he could escape. He looked at Sky. He could tell that Prapai had intent to kill them all. So what he would do next would either determine his death or survival. He picked up a bottle, broke it on Sky's head, the smile he had on, seeing Prapai was wiped off he was bleeding profusely, and passed out. Prapai ran towards him frantically. The Ex escaped. Prapai touched him in an attempt to heal him. It didn't work. He came with intent to kill not heal. He needed Payu and fast. He removed the ropes from his hands and feet. And carried him gently with both hands. As he turned around, Moss men were there, ready for a fight. He planned on killing the Protector of Carityl tonight.
