Chapter 23: Healing Takes Time

" I don't even know who I am anymore." Sky spoke in a whisper to Prapai's hearing. Prapai understood him clearly. There was nothing he could say that would make Sky feel at ease. The shoulder was good but he knew Sky needed more than that at the time, but he couldn't offer anything. In the last two days Sky had gone through so much that he couldn't fathom. He slept with Rain. He had probably said hurtful things to Prapai that he wasn't even sure would go down well with him if he remembered them. Calling him his enemy, he recalled well. Sky needed to make up his mind and fast. He turned to face Prapai and said;
" Prapai, we sure had the best experiences didn't we? but is it possible for me not to see you for a while? I think we both know that we are bad for each other. I'm like a parasite to you, you really need to let go of me before we become toxic and you fall sick. We keep hurting ourselves, I keep getting you in problems and you keep trying to find a way out. I don't think there's any light at the end of the tunnel for us. Let's end whatever it is that binds us. You want the Immo Plant, take it, but I need you to be safe and I need to be safe too." It dawned on Prapai what Sky was about to do. He listened to him carefully but it was going in a terrible direction so he put his index finger on his lips to shut him up.
" So throwing me away is the best answer for you Nong Sky?"
" No, that's not what I am saying, I'm just saying that because of all this, it's a clear sign that we need to stay apart from each other."
" Sky? I want you to listen to what I'm about to say."
" I'm listening." Sky leaned in closer
"All my life, I've been the one going out to protect people, I've been sacrificing myself for others. Now I have you whom I've been given to protect. Sky, I can't fail at protecting you. You're the only person I would go all out to stay with, to be with, to get close to. Sky of you want to give me up, it's fine, but I'll never you up. I'll always fight to be with you. And if it means dying, I would be..." Sky interrupted him and said
" P'Pai, it's enough! I got your whole hearted attention,but a Protector does not need to look at me alone, there are so many other too. It's like a back and forth game. I always get hurt, you always try to save me, aren't you tired?" Sky asked
"No, I will never be." Pai responded. Sky paused for a bit, examining Pai, something was clearly different. His responses were direct and intentional, his pupils were dilated as he was paying so much attention to him, his hand was in his caressing it while he listened, Sky saw all this and came to his conclusion
" P'Pai, are you in love with someone?"
" Yes I am." Sky felt his heart thump within, his eyes widened. He thought he wouldn't respond or twist the answer but he was so direct, Sky was thrown back. He almost smiled but he couldn't do that at least not now. He bent his head and lowered his voice as he asked the next question
" So who is it? Prapai couldn't explain his inner feelings as he was so content and full. He began
" Well it's a certain person who made me leave my realm down to earth. A person I would risk everything for, a person that makes me so happy my heart feels full. This person is soft and kind, not afraid to be with me, making me weak. I can't look at him properly because I see the stars in his eyes. He molds me, he makes me want to take care of him. He's soft, he's strong, I could give up everything for him seriously without looking back."
" Is he really worth everything you want to give up?"
" He's more, way more."
" So who is it, is it Rain?"
"Sky... It's Sky... It's you, it's always you, and I'm so grateful you came into my life."
Reality hit Sky, Prapai was in love with him, Prapai held his hand tighter. Placed a hand on his chin and said
"Are you surprised? Sky, you're the first person I was willing to sleep with and I didn't feel scared because I knew you'll still be right there. Although it didn't turn out the way I expected but here you are and here I am. Sky, I know you're still tormented by what happened but do you realize that it changes nothing. My feelings, who you are, everything remains the same." Sky choked up a bit before he spoke
" What if you use it against me later?"
" Sky, it's me, Prapai. I'm not your ex, I would never. That's why it's a mistake and you had no control over it."
" So what exactly are you saying?"
" Can you be my boyfriend?"
Sky didn't think he would be so direct, but here he was, no hesitation whatsoever, his hand was in his, and the other was still on his face. Sky thought he would explode, before he could give an answer P'Pai continued.
" If you don't want that it's fine, but can you let me take care of you, till you're comfortable enough to want to be with me?"
Sky nodded, because this option made it easier for him. He still had his ex engraved in his mind, but this was just better for him. He gave Prapai a hug. He smiled before saying "I'll be watching you then."
" I need to do something, so can you wait for me here. I'll make sure you return to work in no time." Sky nodded as he hugged Prapai tighter. He was shirtless so he stood up to leave, Sky put his hand over his neck brought him closer to his lips and asked
" Hope kissing is involved because I want to kiss you."
Prapai nodded,Sky held him tighter and kissed him. Pai held his face and his other hand wrapped on his waist. It fit in perfectly. They were like two people starved of each other. They finally caught their breaths. Pai smiled at him, " I'll be back." He said confidently. Sky looked at him, he could only savour in everything, Prapai was the definition of a hot and handsome man, he has it all. And this man that had it all, only saw him. Sky couldn't help but admire him as he left the room.

Payu comforted Rain who was clearly heartbroken over everything. He patted his back listening to him as he said
" P'Payu, I put you through a lot, I gave you so much pain, and all because I couldn't fight back. Payu, I'm your Achilles heel. Your weakness. My love can't keep you safe and can't even help me either. Payu I'm so sorry." Payu comforted him as much as he could. Rain was really going through a lot and there was really no way to comfort him.
" I'll be right here. Rain, I'll be right here, if you need me, I'll be right here. I'm not leaving you, not today, not tomorrow not next week. I just want you here. And I want you safe. I'll deal with everything and come back to you. Just want for me okay."Rain nodded. Payu didn't leave him but let him be to deal with everything his own way.

Prapai went to the divide with his sword in hand, his face stern. He wasn't here for a game, he looked around and shouted
" I CALL FOR A LORD'S AND PROTECTORS COUNCIL."
