Chapter 85: Without Us

She fought the hardest she could but she could not be in two places at once. She felt the world choke her. As on place was in disarray. Prapai and Payu would never have let this happen, they would have fought back. She saw the coward that was The Lord Protector. He protected himself while the people died all around him. One after the other the monsters pushed into Arityl. In no time the place would become desolate. All the people were forced to exist the town. She ran to the Lord Protector's house. Seeing all the protectors there, she was appalled. She walked inside. The mansion was empty, no single soul was inside. She asked the guards and they told her he told everyone to leave him alone as he wanted to protect himself. It was obvious, he was selfish. After searching for him for a while, she eventually saw him, crouched down in a corner like a paranoid man, looking everywhere and screaming " Stay away, stay away from me, I got my revenge stay away!" He was obviously hallucinating as there was no other explanation to what was happening. She got closer and tapped on his back which caused him to flinch. As he saw her, he grovelled at her feet and said " protect me, you're the strongest one that ever exists. PROTECT ME I COMMAND YOU!"
She smirked then gave him a hard slap across his face " I am not under your jurisdiction so know your place." He was very surprised by this as he rubbed his cheek looking at her fearfully, he pulled back a bit but was still on his knees. His eyes were bloodshot
" Please, I did something and I... I...I am paying for it?"
" What did you do?" She asked
" Something horrible, very horrible. But it's justified. They deserved it."
" Tell me so I can find a way to help you."
" Promise me? Promise me that you'll help me."
" I need to know what you did before I can."
" I killed them, I killed Rain and Sky." He said. Her eyes widened. This was not what she was planning to hear and this was the most horrifying thing as she knew the consequences.
" Why? Why....why did you do it? What was the reason? Fank what was the reason?" She bent as she held him by his shirt.
" They were free, they left you, left us, then you decided to kill the only thing they were living for. Why?"
He smiled " I can't remember the last time anyone called me by my name. Fank, it sounds so strange now."
" You've completely lost your mind. How did you kill them so I'll know how to resuscitate them. Prapai and Payu would tear you to shreds.
" I used my sword on Rain and drown Sky and let them watch. It was easy actually and absolutely glorious. I was happy in the moment and regret nothing. If I die now I would be happy." She was stunned. She felt her heart break for them.
" I can't touch you... If I did I think they would kill me too. I leave you to their judgement."
" You promised to help me though."
" Even if you gather all the protectors together, you will still end up dead. You doomed us all, you singlehandedly gave us a plague. You cannot kill innocent humans or we will be attacked. Have you forgotten that clause you bafoon. This is the end. I'm taking the protectors from your house. You protect yourself! Did you forget that you're the Lord Protector. You should be the one protecting them." He crouched down and grovelled again. She didn't even give him a second look and walked away. He was on the third floor bathroom. As she got to the first floor. She could feel her face get wet. She used her hand and covered it. She noticed it was tears, lots of it. She sat down by the stairs and allowed herself to cry. She loved Rain and Sky too. They were good people. People who would not be selfish about anything or anyone. She needed to get up soon and protect the town. She cleaned her face, got up and went to where the guards were. And face the instruction.
" He said I should tell you all that you should go and protect your people and live." They all nodded and left happily. They were afraid they were going to die doing nothing, just staying still and it scared them more.

On earth Prapai felt so lost and devastated. There was no consoling him. He had returned back to his house that smelled like Sky. He could feel him, he could smell him but he just couldn't see him. In an instant Prapai's life was over. He wanted his lover back, his only friend. His everything. This was not his plan, this was not his idea of what he planned to happen. The lights were all off in his heart. Prapai would still make dinner and call Sky to eat. He would still call him to take a shower. It was impossible to let him go.
Payu lay there numb in his room. He was not eating in the hope that he would just die. He had stabbed himself severally but to no avail, he was immortal after all. He was hanging on to nothing. Everything he had was gone. He felt himself die every minute. Prapai felt the need to get himself together after visiting Payu and seeing the bloody clothes. He was mourning but he couldn't afford losing Payu too. He offered they stayed together. It was bad for him but he could see Payu self destructive self and knew it would be bad if he was left alone. They became enemies two hundred years because of Priscilla and they never talked about it till Sky and Rain came along.She went to the border of Arityl and Carityl and shouted
" I CALL FOR A LORD'S COUNCIL."
Immediately they all assembled. So many seats were incomplete. It was obvious that had died or were protecting the towns. The casualty was much. A member spoke up
" You know now it's a horrible time to call for such. We are under attack and we have no time to meet like this."
"I'll get straight to the point. The Lord Protector doomed us all. He killed the two humans you all were so perverted about. They were innocent so our protective covers weakened, now we have two choices, reinstate Prapai and Payu because we all know they are the best Protectors that ever existed as much as they were emotional, they were powerful. This would not be this bad." One council member raised a concern as he couldn't believe that the Lord Protector would do this to them
" How did he kill them?"
" He drown one and used his sword on the other."
" Unprovoked?" A council member asked
"What kind of a stupid question is that, do you want to defend the man who is causing all of this?"
" Of course not but it's quite shocking. So what's the other option?"
" Prapai and Payu would want their men back to life which is impossible to do so we have to bring them back the other way."
" NO! Its too dangerous."
" Our town is burning and getting destroyed, and you're thinking of a difficult solution, we have none. I fought these monsters for several months just to push them back and they were not this many. Payu and Prapai have been blessed. That's how they protected us for so long. If that is the price we have to pay then so be it. But if we choose to be selfish then so be it. Let Arityl and Carityl crash and burn." Everyone stayed silent. Whispering to each other to see their opinions. In no time it was decided, they all proclaimed together " Prapai and Payu have been reinstated to Lord Protectors of Arityl and Carityl immediately all their rights return to them immediately."
After the meeting, She had no time to waste and returned to earth. It was easy to locate them. And appeared right in front of them. P'Tai who saw this instantly let out a scream, she looked at him and he fainted.
" Pai, Payu, we need you back and I know nothing I say can mean anything to you but save us and we will give Sky and Rain back to you. You have my word."
