Chapter 76:A Brewing Storm

" Take me home!" Sky said without a smile on his face. Something had changed.
" Sky, what happened after the call with Rain?"
" What call? I don't know what you're talking about." Prapai walked closer to him, inches away from him. Something was off, he could feel he was nervous about something. He wasn't fidgety but looked tense.
" Are you going to tell me or should I find out myself."
" P'Pai, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about."
" Fine, don't tell me, I'll find out myself and concerning your request, my answer is definitely a no. Let's go." Before Sky could counter him, Prapai had grabbed him and taken him straight home. They landed in the front of their house. Sky untangled himself from Pai. They landed outside so Sky saw the graffiti painting. Before he could even do anything or say anything, Prapai dived and covered him. Shots were fired. It could be heard on every angle and all targeted at Prapai. Sky opened his eyes and saw the shield Prapai put around him. Pai was more worried about keeping Sky safe than anything else. And he acted on it. He wanted to fight back, use his powers, but he needed to protect Sky first instantly disappearing. He appeared at Rain's house. It was empty.
" Stay here and be safe. I'll make sure our home is okay for you to return. Sky who was acting indifferently turned and said
" Be careful."
"I will. When I get back, we will talk."
Immediately Pai left, Sky called Rain who came in like the speed of light. It was his house so he had the key and opened it. They both hugged and asked if they were fine. Sky narrated what had just transpired " Are you okay? Did they hurt you anywhere?"
" Of course I'm fine, I have P'Pai remember, he wouldn't let anything happen to me at all." That was when Sky revealed something to Rain.
" I want to tell you something, but don't tell P'Pai or P'Payu, promise me?"
" I will but what's up?"
Sky stood close to Rain. Then summoned the bracelet. It was perfectly fine.
" What's going on?"
" The bracelet I broke in front of Pai was fake. Rain, we have to get these things out of us."
" Why? I thought they were protective gems."
" No, they are killing P'Pai and P'Payu slowly. In their bid to keep us safe, they are paying the ultimate price for it."
" Which is?" Sky went to Rain's ear and whispered something to him. Rain's eyes widened.
" That much?"
" Yes Rain, that much, they love us too much I guess because this is absolutely crazy."
Prapai was in a no nonsense mood. Everything today was stressing him out. He didn't understand why the bracelet broke because he knew where his heart belonged. The frustration was written all over his face and he was going to transfer the  aggression he was feeling to whoever did it.
As he returned home. He looked at the graffiti again. He smiled. He turned around to the direction of where the bullets came from earlier and mumbled some certain words. Then walked towards the direction of the shooters. It was okay to mess with him, he didn't mind as he saw it as nothing, but to mess with Sky, he wasn't going to have that. The further he walked, the people who did it earlier were getting more and more frightened.
One even nudged the other and said " lets get out of here, we are facing someone who is way out of our league."
" Dude, are you afraid? This guy got nothing on us."
" But it's clear he could kill us, at least let's hide better."
" Just wait for the signal."
" I have a family and I want to return to them." Prapai passed and landed on the spot they wanted him to be. Just then, Sky's ex showed up. Prapai looked disappointed.
" I was expecting someone more challenging. Not a wimp like you."
" How dare you, you trapped me and my guys in our minds for over five years,  now you will pay."
" Who? Me? It seems like you're forgetting something. You tried to kill me and Sky. Made an alliance and made us lost. The fact that we are still okay, says a lot."
" Okay, all of you come out now! I want to give you an opportunity, if you want to return home, now is your chance. It's been over five years. Your family probably missed you and other things, but if you feel you want to challenge me, then stay." Right there, five of the people ran away dropping their guns. They wanted to return home. Pai let them. Sky's Ex was not going anywhere as he stood there looking at Pai and a few of the people too.
" Who put you up to this?" Pai asked.
" The lady who freed us."
Pai mumbled "Priscilla. I will kill you this time around for missing with me so much."
Pai faced them, he looked at the ten people who were still there.
" Bring it on!" They all brought out guns. Pai laughed. Then he brought out his sword " If you wanted to fight me, at least be better prepared." That was when it hit Pai that something was off. If Priscilla was going to use them to fight against him, she would have given them better instruments to battle as guns did nothing. So who was she really targeting. It hit him at once. It was Sky. She really wanted to kill Sky. Pai was flabbergasted. He looked at them and said
" Before I die, I have just one question."
" Feel free to ask."
"Why Sky? You don't even like him anymore so why him?"
" I'm just following instructions. That's all."
Pai wasn't going to kill any of them. They were not his enemy any more and he knew killing them would be tagged man slaughter and he might lose a lot. And if Priti appeared before the council he would definitely not save Pai. Pai instantly stood there, closed his eyes and said " Go and be happy."
It was an mind control ability but he has never used it for anyone as he never saw the need to. It was five years. These men have toiled and suffered for so long. They didn't even deserve a fight let alone a brawl with him as it was uneven. They all dropped their guns and went away. Forgetting who he was. Priscilla was truly evil. She was going to capitalize on Pai's anger and make him kill them. Pai stayed back. He went to a store to buy Paint and some other accessories and got back to the house. He painted it all. If Sky was to return home he needed to be fine and the house well taken care of. He felt a bit of abandonment. Why did the bracelet break. He knew where his heart was and it was with Sky, so why did this happen. He pondered on it without checking his environment. People passed the street but Pai was too occupied to notice someone getting closer to him. As he turned to see who it was. He was stabbed.
" That is for Moss. I think my distraction was pretty good."
It was the first time. Pai felt his body stiffen. He looked up to see a hooded man with a smile on his face. The sword was heavenly as he noticed he was bleeding. He had never seen his own blood before. It was an unusual sight for him.
" I'll take away everything you know and love till you're left with nothing. You killed him because of Sky, right. Then I'll kill Sky because of you. I know you'll be fine as I'm unable to cut your head off. So..."
He got in more blows one to his shoulder, his stomach and his neck. Pai lay there in the pool of his own blood.
" Sky I'm coming for you."
Sky in Rain's house felt his chest prick. It hurt so much he fell to the ground.
" Sky, what's wrong? What's wrong?"
" It's P'Pai, Go and Tell P'Payu to find him."
