Chapter 87: Everything We Lost

The monsters were pretty big and looked like blobs of mud. They had sharp teeth which they pierced into their victims ripping them of their conscience. Prapai and Payu were both ready as they raged forward. For them it was easy as it was their territory and they were blessed. It took three whole months for all the monsters to be fully eradicated and both Carityl and Arityl to be finally free. Prapai and Payu made sure to end them all. The more they were pulled back the more the wall rebuilt itself. The barriers that protected both realms were beginning to get restored and in no time the protective barrier had covered everywhere. The people were overjoyed and in the process rebuilt their houses. They went to Prapai and Payu's houses first and cleaned it up. They had both been gone for so long their houses had become messy. Their servants let them in and they cleaned up the entire place.

The chants of victory could be heard all over both kingdoms. It was truly amazing. The return of Prapai and Payu had brought hope again to everyone. The happiness was immeasurable.
The Lord Council Head Lady went to The Lord Protector's house and dragged him out. He had lost credibility in the eyes of everyone. He was no less than filth to all who saw him. News of what he had done spread like wild fire. A lord's council was called on his behalf. This time even people that were not related to the case came. She had no intention of having a trial. Her mind was made up. She would let him speak but the judgement that would be passed would be hers. Her mind was set on what it would be. He was dragged there in the most disgraceful way possible. Crouched down with no support. He was still delusional. As he shouted " do you know who I am? Do you know how relevant I am to Carityl and Arityl. Unhand me!" What came next shocked him. He was slapped hard across the face by her. His eyes widened, he couldn't comprehend what had just happened but he could see clearly he had lost. That slap was an indication that he had become nothing.
" You slapped me? You good for nothi...." Before he finished she did it again.
" Shut up before I cut out your tongue. I'm here for a Lord's Council. I'll let you speak, after that I'll pass my judgement. Any word from you will be used further against you."
" Are you guys actually angry at me?" He asked sarcastically
" After everything I have done for this place, for you people. For these ingrates. I'm sure my judgement is already certain so I'll be brief. I will do it again, over and over and over again. My sons were unjust, yes, I agree. But was it enough to kill them. These two had human lovers, it was acceptable and my son falls in love with Prapai and want to be happy with him through any means necessary, that becomes a crime? Oh the double standards!
I am the hero. I rid the Realm of those pesky people. I should be thanked." He faced Prapai and Payu who just arrived after defeating the last of the monsters he pointed at them and screamed
" You did all this. You caused this. If you had liked my son back all of this would have been averted. But no! You decided to like people that weren't even worth your breath. You saved the Realm, congratulations. But at what cost? I die, your loved ones don't return, I still win."
Payu was getting impatient. He wanted to rip his tongue out of his mouth. He clenched his fists. If he heard one more word that discredited Rain, he would riot. Before he could say anything, The Lord Council Head Lady spoke up
" We will return the order back to them."
" That's impossible! That's a privilege only given to the highest ones. They don't deserve it at all!
" Yes they do, look around you, they saved us all. That is their request and it will be granted." She said
" Did you tell them the consequences? It's unfair. They don't deserve such treatment at all. I asked for my sons to be brought back my request was denied but theirs is approved? For mortals that would still die? This is ridiculous. I disapprove."
" You have no right to... You lost all privileges, have you forgotten that after the incident you grew weaker. You lost your abilities for taking revenge and Killing the innocent."
Prapai could only stare at the killer of his boyfriend. There was a protective wall so they couldn't enter. Pai walked up to the wall and faced Lord Protector. Then asked the question that bothered him so much about everything there was pain in his voice as he spoke
"Why? Why did you kill them? Why not us? We had come so far together. Just why?"
" Because I wanted to see both of you suffer. I missed the crying phase and regret but seeing you both now, I'm glad because I know you both suffered. I'm ecstatic because I know I won."
" That's why I'll do them the honour. They'll execute you. So their faces will be the last you see."
Prapai really wanted to do this but they stopped and told her to do it instead. He knew it would scar them further but they decided to take a jab each. Payu went forward and stabbed him in the chest. " That's for Rain."
Prapai went with his sword and cut his forehead, blood gushed down. " Drown in your own blood."  They both stepped back and she took the center stage, then made her decree. " By the power vested in me as the Lord Council Head, I hereby pass your judgement You shall die today and be reborn for three lifetimes. You shall spend all your lifetimes in prison for heinous crimes till you repent. But you shall suffer till you die each time. No chance of forgiveness." Before he could plead his case. He was beheaded.  Pai and Payu gave each other a hug, they had to rebuild but had something to go back to.
The Lord Council Head Lady approached them " I have some news, both good and bad. The good news is the Lord Council has agreed to return your lovers to you but, they have just been reborn so you'd have to wait twenty years to meet them.".
She didn't even need to tell them they had to wait. They didn't mind, they were both so happy, it was immeasurable. They would meet their lovers again. They broke down and started crying. What was ten years that they couldn't wait. It was nothing. The smiles were so real. They were going to work it out. To be worthy of meeting their lovers again.
When they returned. Like magic, Sky and Rain's memories were gone from everyone around them. They didn't know where they were but didn't need to. Prapai was going to make his company one worthy of Sky. He knew he would. He went back to his office and saw Sky's position was occupied by another. He couldn't help it he told the person in there to leave as he needed to check something. He went inside, Locked the door and let himself cry. It was going to be a horrible twenty years of waiting but he knew Sky would find his way back. He just needed to make the company worth it. But this time around, Sky had a family to keep him company.
Payu went to the restaurant that was filled with memories of Rain. He set his mind on being happy this time around and content. He was going to be a man that stood for what he wanted and fight for it. Although they were both starting from the bottom again but it was different this time. They were going to be so established that their lovers would find them. They would grow up with love and it will turn out well...
