Chapter 63: Strike

Pai looked at Payu who had stopped him. In this moment his mind took him back to everything Rain had been saying, Payu was still in love with Priscilla and to the detriment of everyone and everything Payu looked back at Pai and said "let me do this, please." Pai withdrew his sword
" Keep the forcefield up for me okay, I'll be back. If it backfires, destroy it with me inside. But I'll definitely be back because of Rain, trust me." Pai nodded and moved back a bit. Payu teleported himself inside the plant. Rain saw this and took it as his cue. Payu was no longer his. It was exactly as Rain had described, it was a spacious island and quite vast. He looked around and saw no one. Soon a hand rested on his shoulder, he turned and it was revealed to be Priscilla. Priscilla expected a big reaction from him but was given a cold and stern appearance
" What's wrong baby? Did you miss me that much that you became speechless." Payu didn't react and just kept looking at her. She was indeed still radiant and beautiful. She glowed immensely but Payu wasn't moved at all
" Why? Just why?"
" Why what? Aren't you delighted to see me?"
" See you, why should I be? You messed up my life, made me take an oath with you after you lied to me that it was the only way to save your life. Eventually you died, but I have to face the consequences every single day of my life. You returning, your name, your presence, everything about you is just pure pain and suffering."
" Phi, why are you talking like this, we are meant to be soulmates, I'll always find you."
" A soulmate who tied a string on my heart, that the only way for it to be broken is if you die. I can never fully love anyone else because you exist. You are worse than a witch."
" Payu, don't talk about the string that way, it binds us."
" No, it binds me, I was so foolish loving you whole heartedly that it clouded my judgement, even when you picked the human over me, I was still content waiting at the corner believing that you would return to me, Moss too, I was still waiting."
" Babe, I just wanted to test your love for me, and seeing you miserable was clear indication that you genuinely loved me. Seeing you mope wanting me back, begging that the string be untied made me believe that our love was realer than anything in this world. You made me happy and the ultimate was to give up my life for you. Unfortunately, for some reason why didn't you notice that the string was still intact?"
" I noticed, it was so obvious that I suffered for so long because of you, your selfishness, your crude nature made it impossible for me to love again until Rain, I assumed the relief I felt was because the Immo Plant was inside him, your Immo Plant, but getting closer, that wasn't it, it was something more. I was genuinely in love with him. But then I needed to be sure after the plant left him if what I felt was real or you. It was real, I chose him and I always will. Rain is a breath of fresh air but since the Immo Plant left him, the pain returned. I knew at once you were alive."
" So you love that kid? He doesn't even have history with you?"
" He's not you Priscilla, he doesn't go all out to break me but I will go all out to break anything and anyone for him."
" Will you kill me because of him?"
" If you pose a threat to his life I will a hundred fold."
" But... But I thought... You didn't like him and it was all an act."
Payu laughed " I needed access to you, I knew you would feel the pull of the string towards your direction, and here you are, on a platter."
" Payu, I know you can't kill me, you love me too much to do that."
" Then you wouldn't have let me and Rain meet, you shouldn't have put the Immo Plant in him. You were wrong, so wrong. To answer your question, Priscilla, for Rain , I would burn the whole world. For Rain I will kill you in every life time." Priscilla fell to the ground, her hands were clasped to her hair as she scattered it.
" There's only two options here, you cut off the heart string or you die."
" PAYU? YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME, IT'S ME."
" You did worse to me and I didn't complain, it's an eye for an eye. You lost." Payu brought out the sword and placed it on her neck,
" Make your decision now."
" P'Payu you can't hurt me."
" Fine."  Payu took the sword and dug it into her shoulder. Payu kept going. " I'm getting this thing out of my heart one way or another, either you die or I do. No one is leaving here." Priscilla looked into Payu's eyes, the eyes that once loved and looked at only her were empty filled with hatred and disdain, she had lost him, lost him to a mortal and a man for that matter. She felt her own heart shatter. She stood up, reached her hand to Payu's chest and brought out a thin golden string. Before she could manipulate it, Payu pushed her down and brought out every thing from his chest then used his sword to cut it. That was the only thing that tied Priscilla and Payu together. That was the only thing that could make him chose her over Rain. Her power was gone. Priscilla laid on the ground.
"My plan was perfect, how could you chose him over me, why? Why? I even killed the human because it didn't feel the same when I was with you, so why?"
" Because you are a murderer, you are insane, Rain would protect me, he would guide me, help me and be there for me. Rain is my everything, something you will never be even if you go to any lengths to be."
" I can be him for you, what does he do for you, I'll do it, just tell me, I'll do it."
" Priscilla, stop, I beg you stop." Payu turned back to leave the place. Priscilla shouted
" I'll kill him. I'LL KILL HIM SO YOU HAVE JUST ME AND ME ALONE."
Payu turned and struck his sword straight to her heart
" I'll burn the world for him, you included."
