Sky and Rain looked at each other in utter disbelief they looked back at the men who were presenting their hearts to them like a peace offering and were completely dumbfounded. It was clear they were serious as they were not smiling at all. Tension increased. Sky took a step back and looked at both men who were no longer smiling. Sky looked at Prapai and finally opened his mouth " why? Why are you doing this?"
" We've thought long and hard on how to protect you, leaving you, sacrificing our bodies. Sky there's no better way to keep you safe. I've tried and thought about it so much. There isn't."
" So giving us your hearts is the best way, right?" Rain asked
" Yes, yes it is and if I can do it again I would. Do you know how scared and nervous we felt when we were drunk in that hotel and we couldn't locate you? Or when the plant left you and you got sold. Rain, we couldn't even identify the real you and the fake you. It might not be scary to you; but to us, you're our everything. We can't keep being lax and losing you. I want to win and keep you. That's my aim. And you must be alive too, there's no two ways about what I want."
"And what about what we want?" Rain asked
" Rain, tell me what you want?" Payu replied
" Don't give up everything for us, don't let us feel it's because of us that you have to pay all of this." Rain answered
" You have no idea do you?"
" About what?" Sky spoke up as he didn't want them to quarrel again
" Our lives... Our lives before we met you." Pai said
" What about it?"
" It was distasteful and sour. We lived to Please everyone, to keep everyone safe, they praised us because it was our duty. They were never obligated to us. They couldn't help us, aid us or cover us. They stood at the sidelines to watch. Even the ones who said they were there for us, stood on the sidelines. No matter how powerful one is, love matters. And no matter what we did for them, they never loved us. You, you came, you cared, you worried, you protected. You had no powers but you did. Sky, you became a light to me. You argued and fought with me. And you think I wouldn't go through all have to keep you safe? You think I would scale the heavens just to make sure that you are alright? Of course I will, because I love you, I love you so much it's unbelievable. I love you more than myself. I can't believe that's possible but Sky, I'm living it. So you see this..." Pointing at the bracelet " it's nothing." Sky kept on looking at Prapai like a crazy person who had lost his mind and everything else but he was fixated on him. On his gaze on his everything. Payu held Rain by the hand and took him to the top of the building. It was quite high. One could see all of Arityl from that height.
"Why did you bring me up here?"
Rain asked
"From up here you can see everyone right?"
"Yes I can."
" But from up here and anywhere I see only you. I don't think I can see anyone else. Even Priscilla could not compare. She could not even get close to you. Rain you're it for me. There's no down or up, just you. I want to keep you safe, I want to protect you, I was to love you, I want to make you love me so much that you scream my name even when we make love. I want everypart of you to register me. Your mind, your body, even your soul."
" What makes you think it hasn't happened yet?"
" I know it. So just take this necklace."
" Why's yours a necklace and Prapai's a bracelet."
" I wanted you to wear me around your neck. Pai wanted Sky to have him like a handcuff. Not going anywhere."
" The both of you are crazy you know that right?"
" Yes I do, very well. But It doesn't stop you from loving me."
" No it doesn't."
" Payu?"
" Yes love?"
" In time past, I always questioned how far you were willing to go to protect me... How far are you willing to go?"
" It depend on how far you'll let me go. I consider you before I do anything and that will never change. So just give the order." Rain smiled. " Payu I'm already envied enough, any more than this then I'll be dead."
" Let them envy you. Let them envy the ground you walk on, you're untouchable. So do you accept my gift?"
" If you put it on me then I just might." Payu touched his delicate neck and put the necklace on him. Instantly it vanished. Rain felt a tug in his heart. It burnt. He felt his leg give way. Payu carried him inside and placed him on his leg. Rain's body needed to adjust to what was inside and wrapped like a protector around his heart. It was to only appear when he was in danger so no one would see it or try to steal it.
Sky unaware of what was going on was still staring at Pai.
" What are the consequences of this?"
" On you? Nothing."
" P'Pai, what are the consequences of this on you?"
" There are non."
" P'Pai, if you like to me one more time I would walk out. So tell me."
" I'll just be able to identify and find you quicker. Sky can I tell you after you put it on. I can only show you."  Sky looked up with an  angry expression then gave him the permission to put it on him by stretching his hand.
" Hope this doesn't turn out to be a wedding band." Putting it on him, Pai giggled at the thought of that
" It wouldn't be bad would it?"
" Pai don't... Ouch... Push it."
It fused on his heart and he was about to fall forward till Pai caught him.
" You're about to be mine permanently. I can protect you more carefully now. And kill again more ruthlessly
