Chapter 80: Our Fate

No one said a word. Time began to move again. All the people present ran away leaving just Pai, Sky, Rain and Payu. The tension could be cut with a knife. Payu knew that if he said anything to Rain right now, it could be a recipe for disaster so he waited he felt he was an enabler and caused all of this. He was the one now frozen. Rain stood there silent, his hands had tremors. He dropped the sword and it disappeared. He looked at his hands and saw blood splattered all over his hands and face. He had killed someone. As much as he hated that person he knew that killing was not the answer. He turned to look at Payu with a blank expression.
" What have I done P'Payu?" Before could say anything, Payu wrapped him in his embrace. No space between them, he patted his head " Mai bpen rai Rain" ( it's okay) " you're fine okay, you're fine... Everything will be fine but I need you to take Sky and return to Earth now."
" No! I want to face the consequences of my action."
" Rain, baby, this is not child's play, they will kill you, your soul and everything that has to do with you. You have to run."
" Why do they care now?"
" Rain?"
" P'Payu why do they care now? When we went through all we did, they were silent. I was born without a mum and dad because of her, Sky was born without parents of her. Why didn't we get justice then? All of a sudden we retaliate, we take back our lives, the heavens become angry wanting to destroy us. Where were they? Tell me Payu where?" Tears streamed down his face, then slowly it poured. Payu was weakened by this sight. He felt his whole body break.
" Rain, I'm..."
" Don't say it..." Rain put his hand over Payu's mouth.
" Don't say you're sorry. Don't say you wished you were here before now, don't you dare say it. I wouldn't have it any other way. You're my soulmate, my best friend and my everything. I love you so let me protect you this time." He smiled.
" I killed your mum, kill me." This was ringing in Sky's ear like a broken record. He was sure of what he had heard. His ears hurt as he felt his world crumble in front of him one piece by another. Sky turned pale but no one noticed even Pai was focused on Rain. Sky turned around and was walking in the opposite direction. Before Pai could regain himself and remember that this pain was not only felt by Rain but Sky as well, he was no where to be found, Pai called out " Sky? Sky? Where are you? " Pai ran outside. He searched the whole place but didn't see him. Rain who was sobbing initially wiped his eyes and looked for Sky too. Sky was the tougher one in their friendship group but it was so obvious that he was a lot more broken. Sky had run into Carityl town, passing a lot of people and places and went to Prapai's house. Tinnapat opened the door for him. Sky went straight to Pai's room and lay there. Pai could feel Sky, his broken heart but he couldn't locate him or see him. Sky didn't want to be found. Tinnapat went to the room to peep at Sky to check if he was okay, but he just saw him laying on the floor.
"Khun Sky, please get up from the floor, please I beg you, my master would not be happy with this.
" Tinnapat? Can you do anything for me?"
" Yes of course, I can, Master Prapai said I should do anything you ask from me."
" Can you kill me?"
" What?"
" Push me out of the window or take a knife and stab through my heart. I don't want to live anymore. I'm exhausted Tinnapat, exhausted. So let me die peacefully."
" OKAY I'll be back." Tinnapat went in and brought a tea for Sky.
" Drink this first. Then I'll kill you later."
" Okay." Sky drank the concoction given to him and immediately became sleepy and closed his eyes, losing consciousness. Tinnapat placed him gently on the bed and called Pai who rushed back home. Seeing Sky and hearing his request, his heart was shattered.
There and then the Lord Council Head Lady came in. She looked around.
" P'Pai, start talking what is going on." Pai narrated everything that happened in grave detail
" All of this happened to you? Where was I?"
" You went on that mission."
" Lord Protector wouldn't let this slide, you killed both of his sons, his only children. I'm so sorry Rain that this happened to you. You should not have gotten involved with us. We are trouble."
" We are already involved so what do we do?" Rain asked
" Payu you and I know that this is going to end in bloodshed, Sky and Rain would have to be killed. They would be tagged as tempters whose purpose is to make you fall. Killing them would be happiness for all." She said
" No we will not let anyone touch Rain or Sky as long as we are alive." Pai said
" Pai, I can't help you this time. I think your love is really over."
"Sky had Rain have to live, they really have to."
" Rain can you excuse us? Tinnapat please take him out."
" Yes ma'am." He said escorting Rain out. Sky was still unconscious and sleeping.
"what do you suggest we do?" Pai whispered so sleeping Sky wouldn't hear
" Prapai, this is not like other times, it would be so difficult to escape this time."
" What are our changes, tell us our fate."
" It ends in only two ways. The both of you die or the both of them. There's no middle ground. Two lives for two. Yaya and Priti. Pai I have to say there's no escaping this." After listening to this, Payu looked at Prapai.
" We've lived long enough anyway. while Rain and Sky have their whole lives in front of them. Run the stores and businesses, have new boyfriends, in no time we will be forgotten We won't have it any other way."
" Guys, you can't do this. The world needs you more. Sky and Rain are insignificant please."
" The world can always get new protectors but Rain and Sky are ours. The world won't die for it's protectors but the Protectors have to give their life for the world. To hell with the world. I choose to give my life for the one who will do everything to protect it for me. Sky."
" Rain for me"
" Are you saying you will die for Rain?"
" I am saying I will give up everything for Rain immortality included. My life is just collateral."
Pai.. talk sense into your friend."
" I guess it's bad when two friends fall in love, no one is the logical one. They are both die hard romantics.

The bell rang. It wass time for the judgement at the Council.
"Do you admit to killing Priscilla, Yaya and Priti In a gruesome bloodbath?"
" Yes I do and I will do it over and over again." Everyone gasped. It was Rain, Rain spoke up.
" Killing Priscilla was my delight." Sky chipped in.
" Kill us both." He said facing the Council His heart spoke we are insignificant P'Pai. The world can't do without you and P'Payu. I love you too much to see you choose me over everything."
" End them, let this two delinquents be off the face of this earth. They are nothing so they should stay as nothing." The Lord Protector spoke.
