Chapter 92: One By One

Rain woke up the next morning with Payu by his side. They had made out for some time but decided not to go any deeper. Payu cover him and allowed him to sleep, Rain didn't want him to go so he begged him to stay in the room with him which Payu accepted. Rain kept it to himself. He kept what he was feeling to himself as he was avoiding being called crazy and delusional. There was a thin line that had been crossed and he knew it. Rain was not this kind of person. He was not one to initiate kisses, he was not one to take the lead but here he was throwing all of his morals away for a man who he just met even followed him to his house without fear. This behavior was odd for him but it didn't seem out of place for him and he just couldn't explain why. He trusted this complete stranger. He was still staring at him till Payu opened his eyes to find glistering eyes staring at him. They looked curious and out of place. Payu was not going to confuse Rain in any way shape or form. So he stood up and said " good morning? Did you sleep well?"
" Yes I did and you?"
" I did too. I want to..."
" Take your shower there'll be change of clothes for you on the bed. By the time you are done I'll be done preparing breakfast. Please relax a bit more. Today is Saturday." Payu went back down and Rain checked his phone. He saw the missed calls and texts from Sky. He called back but at this time Sky was already on a car and house tour to even return a call. He saw the messages and pictures on LINE and he replied to them all before he went to take his bath.

At the restaurant, when the waiter came with the food, Rain had seen Payu walk towards the kitchen. He flinched on seeing him and that was what led the food to spill all over him. He knew him but from where and how, he could not explain. He stayed in the bathroom for a long time. There was a lot going through his mind. This was not how he envisioned his day to be. Payu was warm and welcoming, soft spoken and all entirely an amazing person but Rain was having dejaVu with him. He saw the change of clothes and came down to meet him. Food was ready and Payu was smiling at him. Rain stopped walking towards him. He froze on the spot. This smile, this man, this house, he remembered. His eyes welled up with tears. If he cried what would be the reason? What would he explain to him that made him cry. In no time, the tears fell. Payu seemed so far away from him. Payu had to run to him. He held him by his shoulders. " Rain, are you okay? Rain talk to me what's the matter, did you fall? did it hurt? What's wrong, please tell me? You're scaring me."
" Did it hurt?" Rain looked up at Payu who was staring at him. He looked pained and So did Rain who began to cry profusely. The sobs were loud and uncontrollable
" What? What? Please I don't understand. do you want to sit down? Should I take you to the hospital? Please how can I help because I don't know what to do?"
" When I died?" Payu's hands dropped automatically. He took a step back. He was going to fall but Rain held him. There was no explanation how did he know?
" What are you talking about Rain?"
" How long did you have to wait for me to get back to you?"
" Rain?"
Rain had spoken to Sky about his desire to visit the restaurant after so long. So many unspoken words left to say
" Are you sure you want to meet him?"
" Yes, I want to be sure I didn't make him up. If he's still there, then he would be waiting for me, won't he?"
" He should. He loved you too much to move on so easily, and I'm pretty sure the reason we came back was because of them.
" Why did we have to die with them watching? Knowing P'Payu, he would have mourned for so long.

Pai still couldn't explain what was going on.
" I searched for you, for so long. At age five I already had all my memories back. Lord Council Head Lady came to meet me then. She called it a gift. I was too young to find you. I had to be patient. I had to be one to look at you and walk away. School was difficult. I cried everyday with these memories thinking I was being weird. Till we met and you did everything I was expecting you to. I couldn't approach it. I'm so sorry. You had to watch me die."
" She didn't have to show you that part, you didn't have to know. I could make you love me again, I was willing to do it all over again. I didn't mind Sky, I didn't mind. But you didn't need to know."
" And you? And you? Watching me sleep, or seeing me exist. How much did you hold yourself back from telling me you missed me, you loved me? Didn't it hurt? If I was the one, I would go crazy. Tell me, I wouldn't have minded. You must have been so lonely haven't you? For twenty two years. Teerak, I'm right in front of you now. Did you miss me? I want to hear you say it."
Pai had no idea how he would react to this.
He fell to his knees.
" How?"
" I'm so sorry I came so late."  He had no words as he was floored. This was his lover, his everything, his heartbeat, his friend coming back to him like this. It was a dream come true.
