Payu was devastated after her death, he went into depression with Prapai facing the same thing. They both refused to see people and talk to them. This was taking a toll on Carityl and Arityl. The Protector couldn't help as well. There was a threat on both realms but Payu and Prapai didn't come out at all. A part of them had been taken away.
A Lord's Council was called again, and they were summoned, but Prapai and Payu the subject of discussion were absent. This caused a big issue and contemplation of whether they should be demoted to commoners. This discussion went on for a while, but the conclusion was that it was impossible as both of them were eternally blessed and not gifted like most of them.
Prapai after ten years got over it, and cleaned up his city but Payu case was more difficult as she was his first love. Prapai flew to Payu's house in hopes of getting him out of his sober mood. He was unsuccessful, Payu was angry with the world and with everything that concerned him. Prapai told him to cheer up as there was a dark cloud starting to hover around him. Payu refused, blaming himself for the incident and everything that occurred which was clearly not his fault. He shoved Prapai away. Talking to him was a wasted effort. He then received a visitor, who gave him a portion that was able to wipe the pains that one felt, but for a price. Payu didn't know the implications and took it, changing his life forever.
******************
Payu held onto Rain. He wanted to tell him something, but the words weren't just coming. He had constructed it perfectly in his head, but faced with Rain looking very conflicted and scared, he had to keep shut. He took one step back. He was panting heavily. Rain eyes were fixated on him. He was desperate for answers but was not sure if he wanted to know what the answers would be. There was a longing to hear the truth. Payu looked at the frail man and began speaking
“ I know what you saw might have been very frightening and unlike anything you've ever seen before. I'm sorry you had to find out like this.” he stuttered as he spoke.
“ Who are you, no change of question what are you, Payu?”
This question made Payu freeze. There was nothing he could say to defend himself and Rain had seen everything “ I'm a Protector” Rain was confused “ a what?” he asked
“ A Protector.” Rain was fed up at this point and said “ Payu,if you don't want to tell me, it's fine, but don't make something up imaginatively and expect me to buy it. It's not funny at all. Payu, if you don't tell me something that makes sense now, I'm gonna get up and leave, and you'll never see me again, so start talking.”
Payu could tell he was serious. His eyes were fierce. Payu knew that anything he would say, would either screw up the friendship they were trying to build, so he needed to come clean. It was against the rules to reveal yourself to a human, but Rain wasn't included in such rules because he had a growing Immo Plant in him which made him special already. Prapai took another step back and changed to his actual form, sword and all. Rain was astonished. He really wasn't dreaming any of the things he was seeing. He scanned Payu all over. Payu explained everything to him, without leaving any detail. He was usually one that was skeptical of people, but here he was trusting a frail human.
“ I'm like a god, but not really one. I have special abilities. The other person you saw that's like me, he has the same abilities too.”
Rain staggered. He didn't believe what he was hearing and all the evidences he was seeing could not be denied. “ can we talk at your house? I'm not feeling too well... and... I... I...” he fainted.
Payu had to fly him home, he didn't want to teleport because it was more difficult and Rain could get jetlagged. When they arrived. He gently put Rain down on his bed and stayed by his side all night. He was afraid that he might get hurt again. He looked down at his legs and it was filled with bruises. He quickly healed it and made sure he was sleeping soundly. He went to his room, got a blanket and slept beside Rain on the floor. Payu didn't say it, but he was really frightened.
The next morning, Rain got up to see a sleeping Payu in his room he soon remembered all the events of the previous day and let out a shout, which startled Payu awake. He was alert at once scanning the room and going to Rain in hopes of finding what was wrong with him. Rain put his hand on his chin and the next thing he said was “ I want to meet your other Protector.” Payu agreed immediately and told him he would set up the meeting. Payu went to his room to freshen up after a long day but when he got back, Rain was ready for work instead. Payu was shocked and had to speak up “ didn't you say you wanted to meet my brother and talk? What changed?”
“ Work is more important for now, tell him we will talk in the evening, work now, play later.
I don't care if you're a protectorate or professionate, we need to go to work first.” Rain went up to Payu and grabbed his hand taking him out of the house. They both walked like this to the shop. Payu opened up with one hand, and the other was still held by Rain. He finally let go of his hand and went to the kitchen. The rest of the staff always came an hour later so they had one hour to prepare. Rain closed the door, put his hands on his trousers and his breath changed. He was breathing heavier now. The events of the previous day had drained him and he felt like he was going to explode. Rain had it bad with people who maltreated him, talked down on him. Here was Payu, who was willing to tell him everything about himself without leaving any detail out. He was genuine with his dealings with him. Rain didn't even know what to do with himself. He felt like running away but he knew he couldn't anymore. He came out of the restaurant's kitchen, heaving. Payu who was seating on one of the chairs immediately turned as he heard the door open. He stood up swiftly and went to Rain
“ Are you okay?”
“ What if you're called back to your realm what happens then, does everything disappear? Are you like one of those genies that has a mission and when it's over, you fade away? When are you leaving?”
“ Rain?” Rain was still talking about all the scenarios that could possibly happen “ Rain! LISTEN TO ME. You are my mission, and I can't leave you, at least not now. Till I'm sure you're safe.”
“ Payu, stop joking with me, what's your actual mission here.”
“ Rain. Rain is my mission.” This stopped Rain from asking any further questions as he was stunned. He looked at Payu. His legs got wobble and he was about to fall, till Payu held him by the waist to stabilize him. Rain turned his head to the side as he was both embarrassed and flustered. He had to admit that Payu was one fine specimen of a man or immortal. There was something about him that just seemed different. Rain was about to say something till one of the employees came in and he had to force himself from his grip.
“ Good morning boss and manager.” Rain replied
“ Good morning P' Tai, let's get to work, today shall be hectic.” he gave a Wai to the both of them and Rain put his hand across Tai's shoulder and they both went to the kitchen to get ready for the day. Truly the day was as hectic as Rain said, customers came in till ten in the night. Their shop was well known for its delicious meals and great customer service so it was quite popular in the area. Everyone had locked up. That was when Prapai and Sky came in. The reason for Sky coming was because he was afraid Prapai was going to disappear, so he just wanted to follow to be sure. Rain and Payu were the only ones left and he was about to eat when they came in. Sky saw food. He greeted who was there, and the next thing he was eating with Rain. He didn't know who he was though and greeted him politely and asked to join him. Rain didn't quite understand why Sky was looking at him like it was his first time of seeing him. He went in and got sn extra plate of the food and they both ate together. Rain asked whispering “ How did you escape that day? And how did you take it when he told you?” Sky looked at him with his head slightly tilted and confused. He moved in closer and asked “told me what? And escaped from where? Do we know each other? Because this is my first time of seeing you.” Rain shifted his chair backward which made a screeching sound and got the two men to turn and look in their direction. Rain stood up and walked up to Payu and Prapai with his direction facing Prapai Sky followed behind not knowing what was going to happen but he was interested. Rain at the top of his voice said“ DID YOU WIPE HIS MEMORY? ARE YOU CRAZY?” This startled the three men “How could you do this? He needs to remember, at least to know if he still wants to stay with you or not.” Prapai stood up with a failed attempt at blocking Rain's mouth. It was quite hilarious to see. Sky looked at Prapai and asked
“ What is he talking about?” Prapai didn't know what to say and turned to Payu “you keep his memories?”
Payu shrugged confidently and said “ Yes I did. My mission is to protect him and he needs to know why he's being protected.”
Prapai was stuck “ Does he know everything?” Payu answered
“ yes he does. What's there to hide when I'll be with him all the time.”
Prapai felt betrayed by Payu. Rain folded his hands and shook his head with a sarcastic tone he said “ P', trust is earned and it's clear you don't trust your mission Sky.” The fact that Rain knew his name made everything the more clear to Sky, Prapai had done something to him. He looked at Prapai who was avoiding his gaze. Sky finally broke after putting one or two together and said “ Prapai, give me my memory back, or I'll end our friendship which is evidently built on lies.” Prapai turned to stare at him. Payu went to Rain and motioned for both of the to leave the room. They locked up the shop. It had tinted windows. “ Sky, it's better you don't know just remain in your innocent world.”
Sky acted like he didn't hear the bullshit Prapai was saying and headed for the door. Prapai chased after him, held his hand and placed the other on his head. All the memories returned at once. Sky plummeted to the floor. He was shaking profusely, his eyes wide opened. He had relieved that night all over again. Prapai was so scared seeing him like this, he knelt beside him. “ this is why I didn't want you to know, let me take it back.” He tried to put his hand on his head to take the memories back, but Sky held his hand stopping him. He stared at Prapai. “So if anything bad happens to me, you'll wipe my memory because you're afraid I wouldn't be able to take it, Prapai, that's very mean. I can't run away forever, so I want you to tell me everything.” He let go of his hand. Prapai and Sky both sat at the door. Prapai explaining everything to him. When they were done talking, they called Rain and Payu. Sky took Rain aside and they both agreed to interrogate them together and they were to make their lives hell.
Payu and Prapai were seated opposite from Rain and Sky which began their interrogation. “ How old are the both of you?”
Prapai answered “ In our realms, 1000, in yours 29 years physically but age wise comparing the two I'm 3000 years old.” Both Sky and Rain were dazed. It took some time before they regained composure and Rain said “ Because you're in our Realm, can't believe earth is a realm though... Hahahaha... Sorry I digressed. You will be called P' Payu and P' Prapai or Pai, whatever you like. And you both have to sign a contract with us.”
“ What's that?” Prapai asked
“ that you'll never lie to us ever again.” they both agreed. Rain brought two paper and they both signed. The papers were to be in Rain and Sky's custody. Some other clauses were written but Rain and Sky didn't tell them what. They used their Realm seals to sign it, binding it as a legal document. Prapai and Sky finally left to their house. It was already Four in the morning and there were no cabs. As they were walking back, Sky had an idea and tapped Prapai who turned to look at him “ Can we fly home, I'm tired and it's morning and there's no way to get home without me passing out.”
Prapai scoffed “ My powers aren't to be used for frivolities like this.”
Sky pouted “ Fine, if you're not going to do that, at least Piggyback me home. You've traumatized me enough for one lifetime, the least you can do is carry me.” Prapai refused. They continued walking until he noticed Sky was sweating profusely. He held his hand and teleported him to the front of the house. He raised his hand and counted, “3...2...1...” Sky puked outside. “ We're home...” Sky turned to look at the psycho who did this who was smiling. “ you wanted a ride didn't you?”
“ You should have to me to prepare, asshole.” As the words left his mouth he quickly put his hands over them. Prapai shook his head rolled his eyes and went inside with Sky following behind. “ I want to tell you that I'll be going to stay with my boyfriend from tomorrow. He's back to town.” this made Prapai freeze in his tracks, he turned to look at him. “ What did you say?”
“ I'll be going to stay with my boyfriend from tomorrow.”
