Chapter 69: My World

Payu patted Rain on the back till he fell asleep. Then he healed his mind.
Prapai waited for Sky too and mended his mind the best he could.
Pai and Payu left the rooms. Payu was tired of feeling the way he was constantly. Putting Rain in harm's way all the time. Leaving him was not an option. It would have been in the past but not anymore. They both needed peace and time to be with each other, but  time was always taken from them. As Pai was coming down from the stairs he saw Payu. They both sat down on the stairs. They were quiet for some time before Prapai asked " is he sleeping now?"
" Yes he is. I mended his memories too. And Sky?
" I did the same. I want to take him far away from all of these. I made promises in the past but I've never let Sky enjoy me properly. I really want peace this time Payu and I'll get it and give it to him."
" I'm taking Rain on a vacation. I keep postponing it but I think it's time, away from the drama of power tussle Arityl and Carityl. All of it. I want to properly protect him now like my life depends on it. I'll no more be a coward. Rain deserves someone good. I'm going to be that person for him. I love him so much it hurts sometimes because I keep failing and letting him down, over and over again. Am I even worthy of him?"
" Because you think like this I'm sure you are. Payu, I've known you for so long and I know you still hold back from Rain. There's so much more I know. You tell him it's fine but he knows something is up, he's not a child so you have to stop treating him like such."
" How do you know this?
" He told me himself. Payu, you have to step up, not because of Priscilla, not because of anyone but because of him and him alone. Give him everything."
Payu froze for a while then said
" Pai, we have to get the connection back with them, you know this right? If they are in trouble we can't save them anymore, so what do we do?"
" We give it to them then."
" Pai, that was never an option."
" Payu we've come too far with these men to trust them with it."
" I know but..."
" It's the only way." Payu smiled. He knew what Pai was asking of him. For Rain, doing it was nothing. It was never an option ever, but it seems like with their humans, anything was an option to protect them. Payu stood up nodded with Pai. They couldn't do it without Sky and Rain being conscious so it would be quite difficult as they also need to tell them what it was. Their lovers would for sure argue with them but since their safety came first. They had no choice.
They both retired to their rooms. Pai got into Sky's room and slept on the floor. He looked at Sky. It was so nice to have him right there again. The comfort he felt knew no bounds. The person he wanted to be with the most was right there in front of him. Pai couldn't help but feel giddy inside. He wanted to kiss him badly. Hold him but needed to nr patient. He felt so good. He tried closing his eyes but failed woefully there were butterflies in his stomach. Pai couldn't explain. Sky was his life, he was like a gift the heavens gave him for all the duties he performed. Pai couldn't explain it in words.
Payu stood by Rain's door, he wasn't letting even a fly pass by. That was how he stayed till morning. When Rain opened his eyes, he identified the place immediately. He stood up from the bed and shouted
" P'Payu? P'Payu!"
Payu came running inside he looked at Rain who wore a big smile on his face
" You asshole,You must really be stupid not to identify me in two weeks you jerk." This was Rain, there was no doubt about it. Payu ran to him, held him tight. Rain smiled and hugged him back.
" I'm sorry, I'm really sorry Nong."
" I'm sorry too, next time I'll definitely be stronger. They sat down and Rain began talking about everything that had transpired. Payu did the same. Rain then asked " Did you... with her?"
" Did I what?"
" Did you sleep with her?"
" No."
"Why?"
" I really don't know, for some reason I couldn't bring myself to."
" Wow, you must really love me?"
" You think." Payu had a big smile on his face, one that had been missing for so long.
" Rain I really really love you so much. Saying it doesn't even quantify half of what my heart feels." Rain smiled
" I forgive you now."
" Do you want to see Sky now?"
"No, I think Pai needs to be with him now. As for you, we need to take a bath!"
"Why?"
" I need to wipe that woman's stench off you." Rain sniffed him and blocked his nose causing both of them to laugh out loud. Rain hugged him again and said
" I miss you so much, it should be illegal."
" I won't lose you again, never."
" Prove it."
" I will." Rain laughed. He looked at his sunshine protector. It was obvious he has eyes for him and him alone.
" Let's go and take our bath. I'll scrub you myself, you have to smell like mine from now on. Is that clear."
" Yes it is."
" No, you'll answer yes sir."
" Yes sir."
" Good." Just like that, Rain had forgotten. Payu made him so happy.

Sky woke up and found a sleeping Prapai by the side of the bed. He indeed slept on the rug on the floor. Sky stood up, got the bed sheet and covered him with it. He wanted to leave as he was still feeling horrible, but what better way to forget than to squeeze himself into Pai hugging him. Pai woke up stunned, but seeing Sky, he calmed down instantly. Sky didn't even bother moving. He took Pai's hand and wrapped it around himself. He could tell Pai was awake as his heart beat faster than normal. It was that beat that was familiar to Sky alone. The one he knew was just for him. Sky didn't move and stayed right there. They fell asleep. Rain even came in checked up on them and returned. They were so content in each other's arms. When Sky eventually woke up he saw Pai staring at him like he was the only thing he could see
" Good morning baby." Pai said confidently.
"Good morning darling." Sky said. He was even prettier in the morning. Pai whispered in his ear
" To have you right here with me, I could die happy."
" No one is dying, shut up P'Pai."
He was so shocked he burst out laughing.
Pai and Payu had to be scrubbed clean by their lovers. It was not to be negotiated. They accepted to just be on their own enjoying each other's company. Rain and Sky could not compare the treatment here with the one they had at Arityl Sublime. The biggest difference, they were happy, really happy. Home wasn't in the money. It was in the contentment they felt in each other. Their hearts truly belonged to their significant other and they became the other part of them. Rain admitted he had fallen and there was no getting back up. No one was better than his P'Payu and it was evident. Payu never once tried to exploit him or take advantage of him. It was the barest minimum but the world was just too cruel a place for him till he found P'Payu. Even the heavenly Realm had bullshit people.
Sky made sure he got a back ride from Pai. He heard all the things the other version of him did to Pai, who was narrating how his life was difficult without him.
" Did you miss me?"
" Babe, I can't do without you. Do you know what that means. Carityl is no longer my world, it's you, you and you alone. I missed you so much and back in that bar, I was held back by one thing alone and that was protecting you."
Pai and Payu's minds were made up, they could only give it to Rain and Sky as it just felt so right.
