Chapter 39: My Best Friend Rain

Rain and Sky had a peculiar meeting. They had initially met through Payu and Prapai but they had a bond. When they escaped from Moss the first time, they agreed to be inseparable do while Payu and Prapai were away, they both made it a point of duty to visit each other. They talked about their hobbies, likes and dislikes and learned how to find comfortability in each other's company. Sky was the one who was careful in the friendship. He was tactical in his decisions and protected Rain when need be. While Rain was playful, easygoing and free. When the incident involving Moss occurred, they knew what had happened but were not giving the opportunity to settle it out before the wipeout of their memories. They weren't even able to get closure. Getting the memories back was fine but the fact it was never properly dealt with caused a gap in both their memories.
Prapai brought Sky to the room of Payu and Rain. Sky asked Payu to give him a moment as he kept hearing him call him Moss. Payu was deeply confused but accepted whatever Sky had to say. Prapai held him by the shoulder and took him outside they both sat down in the couch in the room. The room was quite big to contain a couch by the corner close to the door. Sky patted Payu as he left and shut the door. Rain was drenched and the cold water was still pouring. This was when Sky broke down too. Seeing his friend this vulnerable and broken, cut Sky in his heart. He got into the shower. He didn't mind if he got wet or fell sick. He walked to his friend. Before Rain could react, he hugged him tightly water dripping down on both of them. " My Friend, I'm so sorry. Even back then I was helpless and I'm still helpless even now, Rain I'm sorry. I'm broken too."
Rain on Sky's shoulders began talking, his voice was broken as it seemed the pain struck him all at once
" Why didn't he listen. Why were we the ones punished. Why did they use their filthy hands on us? Why Sky... Why us? Why you? Why me?"
" I'm sorry Rain, I know it was really bad but I need you to forgive yourself and me and everyone."
Rain pulled away from Sky and went to where Payu was. Payu stood up. Rain ruffled his hair clearly upset " PHI!" he screamed
" You're like my superhero, my hiding place, so where were you when Moss violated him, WHERE? You couldn't hear my heart cry out for you. Screaming your name. Where were you?" Payu was frozen. He was going towards Rain to hug him but was held in his tracks. This shattered him. Sky tried to get closer but he could tell this memory was quite overwhelming for Rain. He took the back pedal and let Rain process everything, he had Payu. Payu was only able to walk forward now to Rain who he hugged like his life depended on it.
This was when Prapai shouted
" MOSS!!! CAN YOU NOT TORMENT US. I BEG YOU." Prapai knew what he had seen and remembered but with the looks of things it was far worse than what had happened. Moss had said something that stayed fresh in his memory " I can never be with you and give myself to another, never. I love you and you alone Pai, you'll see in the long run." It was clear he did something to Sky and Rain. Pai walked up to Sky shaking him. Sky was a bit startled by this " what else happened after all of this, what else did he do? Tell me?"
" I can't remember, was there supposed to be more?"
" Yes, Payu there's more." Payu's eyes widened and he stepped back. He clearly knew what Prapai meant and by their reactions it wasn't good.
" P'Pai, what's wrong?"
" Moss gave you something to eat didn't he?"
" No, I don't remember." Sky responded. He was telling the truth. This sent chills down Payu's   spine. They examined their Immo plants and they were both fine. Sky was beginning to get extremely nervous.
" When we were both away for three years and Moss was always there did he attempt to do anything, give you food, take you anywhere." Payu asked curiously.
" No they didn't." Rain replied. " Except that one time."
" What did he ask you to do."
" We followed him to a magical looking place but that's all we could remember."
" I remember more." Rain said.
They all turned to look at him
" He told us that eventually we will meet Priscilla."
" Did he plan to kill both of you?"
" P'Payu, I seriously don't remember that's all."
Prapai was losing his mind. That was when the call was heard. A new Earth Realm Protector had arrived. Prapai and Payu held onto their beloved both nodded and vanished with them bringing them to Arityl. They took them inside Payu's house. The aesthetic was quite different from Prapai's. It was prettier and more befitting his character. 
" We need the both of you to be here, we are going to Earth, we'll be right back. Please change your clothes so both of you wouldn't catch a cold."
Payu and Sky kissed their loves on the forehead and they both left. They knew this was the safest place to be. This was when Sky who had to be the strong one broke down. He was truly exhausted with everything happening. Now it was Rain giving him the hug. They both hugged themselves and cried into each other's arms. It felt relieving. Although all was not well, they had each other and their boyfriend. They went and changed their clothes. They promised each other that for the sake of their mental health they were going to talk about it when they were much better. They hugged each other again. Their friendship was the definition of wholesome as Sky was Rain's strength and vice versa. They both had two boyfriends who could die to protect them so it was worth it all. Rain and Sky slept together and Rain told Sky why he had not accepted Payu yet. Sky gave him a pinch on his arm and said " if you don't give him a chance, someone prettier would get a hold of him."
" Can you say the same for Prapai?
"No, that man isn't going anywhere."
" And neither is mine."
I have one more important question, what will we eat here?
Sky, stop talking about food.
But I'm serious.
They both laughed and talked for a while and eventually slept off. Both their eyes were swollen.

Pai and Payu cracked their knuckles. They were ready to meet the new Protector. Their faces were stern and serious. Phiti walked towards them, greeting both men with a bow.
" It's good to meet with both of you, I'm Phiti." They finally met.
