Chapter 15: What It Feels Like

They were able to reach Payu on time before Sky passed out completely. Payu healed him easily without asking any questions. He was in a pretty bad shape so they allowed him to rest in Rain's room he really needed proper care and Pai rose to the occasion. Prapai told him all that had happened and Payu furrowed his brows. He hit his hand on the table beside him breaking it. He immediately apologized to Rain promising to get another one, but Rain muttered under his breath "That's my father's table, it's impossible to repair it." He smiled looking at Payu and went inside to watch after Sky. For matters like this Payu was usually the voice of reasoning but this time, he was the one suggesting they attack when the iron is hot to Prapai's surprise
" Payu, I didn't know you to be this eager, what changed?"
" Rain and for you Sky. We can't bear to watch anything bad happen to them, and they keep getting hurt. I'm sure he knows something he is not telling us." They both sat down on the couch thinking and strategizing. Payu went to Rain in the room and said
" From now on, you'll be staying with me. You remember that guy, he's after us, and we need to stick together to survive. Prapai and I  would be gone for three days. So please protect Sky."  Rain nodded. He knew what this meant. They were going back to get some answers and he was okay with it. He just said " I hope when I see you, you're in one piece. We still have a pending conversation and I'll only give you my answer if you return back in one piece." Payu agreed and gave Rain a hug which he reciprocated. They both left to the sitting room when they saw Prapai, he didn't need to ask. He walked close to Sky, placed his hand on his forehead. The wound was completely healed but he probably needed the proper rest. Prapai looked at him from head to toe and said
" I hope that by the time I came back, I'll be in a better place to give you whatever you want. And I'll protect you like my life depends on it but for now, I just need to protect you on all Realms so no one can ever hurt you again." He gave him a peck on his forehead. He joined Payu and told Rain to stay safe. They gave each person a protective necklace based on their colours. Rain's was blue and Sky's was red. They disappeared. They both arrived in their respective Realms. Payu in Arityl and Prapai in Carityl. They both went to their homes first. That was when Prapai saw his helper who had been taking care of his house and he asked " while I was away, what happened?" The man replied
" Nothing much sir, just that The Protector came to your house, he didn't say what he wanted but he sent people to check but I didn't grant them access." Prapai asked
" Where did they plan to enter."
" Your room sir." Prapai found this very strange and knew he needed to find The Protector. The Protector lived in the boundary between Arityl and Carityl. When he was to get promoted, he stepped on a lot of toes making him one of the most hated protectors to exist. It was strange that the immortals began to behave like the humans in politics and governance which was never the case. On arriving at his house, he met Payu also going up, they talked and found out he ransacked his house as well. They both went up looking vindictive. He was in a meeting when they arrived and tried to stall them as much as possible, telling them that whatever they had to say needed to wait, till they noticed a lady carry food to his chamber, they knew he was toying with them. Payu stood up and stormed into his chamber. There was no one there, Payu and Prapai were pissed.
"So you're too busy to answer simple questions and waste out time?" Prapai asked angrily.
" It's not like that, I was getting things in order to welcome you. How are you both doing? It's been so long, hope the human realm is treating you well?" The Protector asked while getting up
" We are not here for pleasantries, why is Moss after us?" Payu asked
The Protector replied " WOW! Why would Moss do such a thing? " acting surprised. Prapai huffed and said " For a protector who is supposed to know everything, your acting is pretty bad." They could see right through him easily, having lived for so long. Payu continued by saying " you either tell us what you know or else, we would kill you here and now and call it treason. It's your word against ours." The Protector knew the implication. Payu and Prapai although had some pretty bad parts, were trusted deeply by the people as they protected their rights sincerely. There was never a complaint from anyone in their Realms. Payu was reasonable in passing judgement but Prapai was merciless, but it was never always like this.
The Protector went down on his knees " Please spare me, I'll tell you everything I know."
" So you also fear the taunt of the people. I thought you were all powerful?" Prapai scorned him.
Payu had to intervene or it was going to get bad. Prapai was already upset because of Sky getting hurt. He looked at The Protector and used his right hand to motion for him to speak. For someone who started off fearless, he was quite scared now
"Well... I... I... I know about Moss' plan, I know everything but... but I don't really know why he is hell bent on hurting Sky and Rain, so the both of you... Should try to protect them as best you can."
" What does he want?" Payu asked
" You know he had always hated the both of you, thinking you contributed to Priscilla's death."
" He what? He killed her himself,he gave the sentence, what was our crime?" Payu asked his blood starting to boil.
The Protector's words made them stunned " he couldn't live well after she died so he needed somewhere to transfer the blame. It fell on both of you. That's why you were both punished and a part of your emotions were stripped off. This is why he's been chasing you since you arrived the Earth Realm. He needs the both of you dead, so he could atone for killing Priscilla."
Payu plopped to the chair beside him stunned at what he just heard. All Moss wanted was revenge from people who were not even responsible for his hurt. They knew their death wouldn't even cut it for him. They couldn't bring Priscilla back.
Prapai finally asked what they were supposed to do about it all
" Protect Rain and Sky." They left his office, but made sure to send someone to spy on him.
They both had business in their respective Realms so they returned. All the things they had abandoned while away, they started doing them one by one which took them quite some time to finish and by day three, they were finally done.
They returned back to the Earth Realm. It was already seven days gone. They appeared in Rain's room. They checked the date and Rain was in the shop and Sky would be at home. Payu ran to the shop, not minding who saw or not, gave Rain a hug. Rain who was equally happy to see him reciprocated it. The other staff looked at them,looked at each other and smiled. Some knew already that Rain liked their boss, so they were happy that Rain didn't have to make the first move on him. They continued on their job, sneaking smiles here and there. Payu didn't want to let go of Rain and followed him all through the day. If he needed anything Payu would get it for him, no questions asked. Rain liked the attention because it was what he wanted from Payu. He didn't question it and when they closed for the day. Payu wrapped his hands around Rain's waist, sniffing his neck. Rain turned around to ask him " what really happened while you were away seeing that you're all over me?"
" Well.." Payu said proudly speaking in Rain's ear " I missed you so much in the other Realm, I thought I was doing to lose my mind. Rain you really brighten my day." Rain couldn't help but smile at this. He hugged him tighter this time. Without any thought in his head, Rain kissed him. He pulled back immediately remembering how badly his responses were to his kisses.
" P'Payu, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to, I just..." Payu wasn't listening as he grabbed Rain's face close to him and without a second to spare, kissed him, the smack was heard loudly. Rain put both hands over Payu's neck, closing his eyes, he let his upper lip fit perfectly in Payu's. It was a contest of desire. Payu wanted him so badly but restrained himself. The opportunity was finally here. He went further, by kissing his neck getting a shiver from the boy. He was not the only one who wanted him. He lifted Rain up and set him on a table in the kitchen. Rain didn't even know what to do with himself, his heart was beating fast. The shop was already closed and all the lights were off. Were they to take this home, Rain thought, but was worried Payu would change his mind, so he clasped his body with both his legs and said " the kitchen is quite a sacred place, are you sure you want to do this here? I..." before he could continue, his mouth was shut with another kiss. Payu took off Rain's apron and put his hands in his shirt grabbing his chest. Rain swallowed, gripping Payu tighter and with his left hand held onto the table's edge. Payu pinched his nipple causing Rain to moan, gripping Payu's back. With everything going on around, Rain could only hold out for just a bit. Payu wasn't helping as he continued kissing him all over. He wanted this to be done at home at least because the office wasn't sound proof and knowing himself very well, he would scream, but was scared that when they got home, Payu would no longer be interested. He voiced out this concern and for the first time in Payu's life, he disappeared with someone to his room. The logical one lost all logic this time around.

Prapai ran home and checked, but Sky was not around. He remembered the state he left him in and was scared to find him still in a bad shape. He drove in his car to his company, there he got greeted a lot by people. There were so many that had not seen him before. The whispers were everywhere. The CEO of their company was around, and he was quite dashing to say the least. Everyone that saw him bowed. He went to his supposed office that was not properly furnished as no one thought he would ever come by. He went to  Sky's part of the office and asked the secretary where he was. She said he was in a meeting outside town and he would be back in two hours. He nodded and told her he would wait in his office. Outside there was total commotion as everyone had to think of ways to properly furnish his office. The contactor had finished but it was just to bring the instruments that was left. Prapai sat there, food was given to him, water, magazines anything he wanted while waiting. Three hours later, Sky returned. From there reception, he was told that the boss was waiting for him in his office. Sky dropped everything in his hands and ran. He tried the elevator, it was not opening, he took the stairs. He was tired. By the third floor he saw another one, that was opened, he rushed inside. And it took him to the twelfth floor. As he arrived at the door. He was panting contributed to his excitement. He opened the door and saw Prapai sleeping on the couch. He came back and asked his secretary how long he had been there for, and she told him. He asked her to give them some privacy. Her office wasn't even close to his but she took this as a sign that disturbing them might cost her her job, so she left. Sky went back inside closing the door he went on his knees beside Prapai, he was so happy to see him. When he woke up, Rain told him he was muttering Pai's name in his sleep. He placed his hand over his head. Using his finger to play with his face. Prapai slept more comfortably. Sky began to pat him, looking lovingly at him. He was sure that Prapai would do anything to keep him safe. He woke up, and saw Sky. Their eyes met and he stood up. "Why didn't you wake me?"
" You looked so good asleep."
" How long have you been watching me sleep?"
" Not long. Welcome P'Pai, and thank you for everything."
Pai raised him from the floor and placed him on his legs and hugged him " hope you didn't miss me so much."
" Nope, I was doing fine without you... Its been only seven days. If I had died in those seven days how would..." Prapai didn't let him finish as he put his hands over his lips, looked at his eyes intently and said " I would never let anything happen to you and you know this. Its better I get hurt than you do." When the words left his mouth, the realization hit him. Sky has become a part of his life. He liked him, but a bit more
