Chapter 47: Mine Alone

They had met with the new Protector. Sky knew how to get across. As much as he wanted to be an amazing boyfriend to Prapai and being all lovey, he was also cautious, taking to account everything that was happening around them. He asked questions when he did not understand certain things going on in front of him. Prapai never showed him his full power. He restrained himself several times. He always held back and told Sky
" I'm sorry, I can't show you everything. I'm scared I might hurt you and I wouldn't be able to live with myself." That was all the evidence Sky needed. Prapai and Payu were much more powerful than they seemed to be. But for some reason on account of Rain and Sky, they both would  back off. Prapai would pat Sky on the head and tell him " I've lost so much, I'll try to gain you and keep you."  It was obvious that everything that happened recently was just a mirage for something else and he was willing to go deep to find out what it was. When Prapai mentioned the new Protector to him. He added one or two together and it was clear what was causing all the issues.

Rain and Sky called down the Lord Protector's Council. Nothing happened. They called it again, nothing. They had both given up and were on their way home when a beaming light shone behind them. Sky held onto Rain afraid of what they would see. They did the three count and turned around to reveal that all three Immortals were assembled. Priti found himself in the presence of Prapai and Payu and was shocked at the turn of events. He had told Prapai and Payu they couldn't return but here they were being summoned.  They turned and looked around
Payu was the first to ask.
"Who summoned us?"
"We did." Sky said confidently and continued " it's nice to meet you the one who wants to wreck my life."
" How...how... did you do that?" Priti asked looking bewildered. It was impossible. He had won already, what kind of unfortunate event was this he thought as he asked loudly " how did you do that? How did you...find me?"
"I wanted someone else more, finding you was just bonus." Rain said sassily.
" How did you do this?"
Payu and Prapai had taken their places infront of them. They didn't understand anything but knew Priti was capable of doing something to them so they were not going to let them get into any form of harm. They were truly their everything. Rain and Sky did not back down and stood their ground "Is he the one you went away for? I thought Moss would have taught the both of you something but I thought wrong." Sky was upset and through his response it was evident. Pai wanted to hold his hands but Sky shrugged it off. He wanted to say something in that exact moment but Sky was so focused that he knew now was not the right time to do so. He had the deadliest stare looking at Priti. His mind was made up , Priti was going to die today, one way or another. He was either going to do it or get Prapai or Payu to.
He finally opened his mouth and answered "we know about Priscilla and the Immo Plant. She was a protector wasn't she?" Priti nodded " so why could you summon us?" Priti asked
" I am not obligated to answer you. She was the protector of the earth realm. That's the only answer you need." There and then Priti accessed the situation and saw why Moss lost. He messed with the wrong set of people. It was obvious to him now that Priscilla even in death had power on this realm. He expected them to take it lying down, but here they were ready to murder him. He maintained his composure but deep down he was terrified. Sky was eloquent and firm. Rain was bold and fearless.
" So now that you've summoned us here what do you want?"  Priti asked.
" What we want is simple, don't mess with us anymore. This is my warning." Rain said
" We may not be strong, powerful or fearless and most importantly immortal, because we are just common humans but you see these men." Sky pointed at Prapai and Payu. "They would go through everything to keep us safe and we'd like to keep it that way. They can come and go as they please and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it." Sky ended. Priti nodding and it was clear to him. Sky and Rain, although they were humans, were not to be joked with. He turned around and vanished.
Sky who was looking so brave deep down was shaking to his core. He has said all of these but was so scared that it would go south. He crumbled to the ground heaving. He put one hand on his chest. Rain on the other hand was pacing back and forth trying to calm himself down. He had experienced something new today and didn't even know how to react to it. Prapai and Payu stood there watching them. They wanted to approach them but couldn't. The gap they had created. Rain went to Sky and tapped him by the shoulder
" Nice work."
" Mhmm."  Sky replied.
" I'm returning to the shop, are you coming?"
" Not yet, I'll join you soon, let me get my self back."
" Okay, take all the time you need. But don't stay out too late okay?"
" Sure, I'm right behind you." Rain squatted giving him a hug , then stood back up.
Rain literally walked passed Payu disregarding his presence and existence as he headed to the shop. Payu didn't know whether to follow or to stay but he had to make his choice quickly and chose to follow him. He walked some paces behind. Rain acted like he didn't care but deep down he was happy, happy to know that there was a reason behind all these drama. Happy to know that they were safe and most importantly glad that Payu was back. Rain had developed anxiety from being with Payu. He never mentioned it but he did. There was this thing at the back of his head that always told him Payu would leave him one day and never return. This time felt like that. The three years time skipped, the one month recently, the days. He couldn't call him to say he misses him. He couldn't reach out to him at all. This was where his anxiety originated from. It was terrifying for him. He loved Payu no doubt but it was affecting him psychologically. Rain walked into the restaurant. He went to the kitchen to drink water. When he came back out, he saw Payu on both knees. He huffed. He sat on a chair that couldn't see him and continued sipping the water in his hand. His hands began to tremble and soon, the glass fell out of his hand and broke with the water inside. Rain tried to pick it up but he ended up cutting his hand in the process. It was pretty deep. Payu swept in. He lifted Rain and placed him on the table. He ran to get the broom and mop and also kept a first aid box by the side. He cleaned up the mess first and took it to the kitchen after mopping. Rain waited for him to leave as streams of tears were falling from his eyes. He didn't know whether it was from the cut or something else but he just wanted to cry. He stretched his hand to the first aid box. He opened it and brought out the disinfectant. As he was about to apply it, Payu rushed to where he was " let me."
He took the disinfectant from his hand and brought out a cotton swab. As he was about to use it, Rain stopped him.
" I'll do it." He said taking it away from him and pressed it on his hand cleaning it. He brought out the cream applied it too and band aided his hand. " See, I can do it, without you."
" Rain,I'm so...."
" I was thinking I'll find it hard, but I was able to do it. The restaurant now has branches, it's thriving. I am able to treat myself too, able to breathe. P'Payu, I'm fine."
" Rain, I didn't mean what I said back then, it was..."
" Did he put the words in your mouth to tell me? Did he say tell Rain he's incompetent, did he say you should tell Rain you're tired of his bullshit? P'Payu... I..."
" Rain it was..."
" P'PAYU, THAT WAS ALL YOU!" Rain screamed. He stood up from the table.
" This company belongs to you, so by tomorrow I'll quit."
" Rain, I'm sorry."
" P'Payu, sorry doesn't cut it this time." Rain walked away turned back and said " it's good to know you're safe. Lock up your restaurant."
" Rain... It's ours."
" Not anymore."  Rain walked into the darkness and Payu was left there. For once, he felt it in his soul. He really hurt Rain a lot and moving forward, how was he going to win him over. He scratched his head, sat down and placed his head on the table.

Sky didn't move he just stayed in that position. Prapai knew deep down if he approached him, he would explode, so he kept his distance. He didn't even know what to say but knew he needed to say something, anything
" I didn't get married. It was just a ploy so you would hate me." Sky kept silent.
" I didn't mean anything I said Nong Sky khab. It was unintentional and it was the only way I could get you to stay away." Sky kept silent.
" Please say something."  Sky kept silent still
" I'm sorry, I love you so much." This was what triggered Sky.
" I don't think so, people that love each other don't go as far as you did Khun Prapai."
"I'm sorry it was..."
" It was what?"  Sky turned to face him. " You want to say I did this to protect you, right? Or I had no other choice?" You did, Khun Prapai you had choices, you just chose the most brutal one of them all."
" Sky, I... I... Needed to..."
" Keep me safe? Right? Khun, drop the bullshit, if you really wanted to you would have told me or better still wrote it somewhere and left. I wouldn't have been as hurt as I was, and the fact you went as far as cheating on me just to prove a point."
This stunned Prapai who replied
" I would never cheat on you... I"
" RAIN SAW YOU. HE CAME TO THR HOTEL AND SAW HER WALK OUT OF YOUR ROOM. I was in the hospital in this is what you were busy doing? P'Pai, you're a bastard." Sky stood up about to leave. Pai held his shoulders. Sky tossed his hands away " you've lost the privilege, you can no longer touch me, get close to me, nothing. I got you an apartment too. Take your things there instead. Khun Pai, I wouldn't let you live with a liability again so stay away from me."
" Sky? My Sky." Prapai got on his knees. " I would never hurt you let alone do anything that would jeopardize what we had, I only said those things to..."
" Let me hate you? Congratulations it worked, Khun Pai, I HATE YOU."
