Payu had always been the reasonable one. There was never a day in his life that wasn't calculated, from the food he ate down to the friends he made. Becoming Immortal was a task he found easy as he was selected from birth. He never had any contact with the human world so he only believed people could be immortal like him. When he was seven, he met Prapai getting water from someone. He noticed that he has the same mark Payu had meaning he was a protector too. He approached him and begged him to be friends. Prapai refused and Payu flipped the cup off Pai's hands and all the water poured away. Prapai was furious and chased him. They both injured themselves that day and were forced by their parents as punishment to tie a rope each day to themselves so they could be closer. The rope was a binding one so they couldn't free themselves from it. Their hatred turned into mutual respect as Prapai fell into a ditch and they both had to work together to get out. Their friendship became solid and the rope broke. They were inseparable as they trained together. They could not do without each other and when Priscilla came into the picture some years later, they accepted her into their friend group, she was tenacious and friendly so it was easy to fall for her. Payu did. The told Prapai so many times and he planned to confess. Payu planned so many surprises but all to no avail. Priscilla saw him as a friend so he stopped. Prapai encouraged him but stopped all attempts when she fell for Moss. He respected boundaries. When the meeting to assign them Realms came. They were glad with their realms but had little or no time to be together. It was easier to be with Prapai than Priscilla so they both went out to drink and have fun regularly. After Priscilla's death, they had a fall out and Payu stayed on his own. Eventually Payu could only see darkness and there was no hope for him whatsoever. He went to the Rock.
Payu was destined to be a Protector, he was not assigned or by accident, so was Priscilla and Prapai. The Rock was a place where people can give up their most prized possession for different things and reasons. Payu gave up his immortality for death. He wanted to stop living. The Rock told him that the only way this was going to be possible is if he does a thousand good deeds and succeed. It was counted for him. He was down to one, which became Rain. He was fearless in his quest for peace, but there was a problem, everything he ever wanted, Rain gave it to him. The reason he was doing what he was doing and going as far as meeting the rock, Rain gave to him, so he became content. Payu began to panic. He ignored Rain not because he didn't love him, but because he was starting to feel changes. Rain was the first person to make him laugh heartily in a very long time. Rain reminded him of the time he was younger, the time things were good to him. Rain was his sunshine, the one that led him close to Prapai again. He linked them back together. A bond that could not be easily broken.
Payu went into the room and saw Rain. He looked at him longingly for a very long time as he was sleeping " Babe, what are we going to do?" Everything Rain told him at the rooftop bar was playing again in his head. Rain was right but rather than Rain leaving, it was him. He would have been able to revoke the judgement if he had met Rain earlier. He would have been able to save himself if Rain was in his life. Payu sighed. He took a hold of Rain and held the sleeping man tight. When Rain woke up, he saw Payu hurdled up close to him fast asleep. He didn't move and patted his back as he seemed like he needed it. When Payu woke up eventually, he saw Rain looking at him. He was pleased, very pleased and hugged him tightly
" Are you okay?"
" Yes, is it out?"
" Yes it is."
" P'Payu are you okay?"
" Yes I am. Can I ask you something?"
" Of course, anything."
" What if I disappear one day, how will you cope?"
" P'Payu, I just woke up and you're already talking about leaving me, what did you do?"
" Nothing."
" P'Payu, I would kill you if you make any deadly pact again. Especially the death kind. P'Payu, tell me, please."
" Rain its nothing I'm just asking."
" Don't ask. Never ask. I'll never know because I got you back, I wouldn't lose you again. So end the joke it's not funny."
" I'm sorry. It's because of all the time lost I'm just desperately trying to be closer to you and make up for lost time.
" Okay babe. So how long do you want to do all this for?"
" As long as possible with you."
" P'Payu, nothing is wrong right?"
" Yes Rain, I promise."Prapai kissed Sky silly. It was a combination of lust and pure desire. It didn't last very long as Pai began to cry and put his lip apart. He broke down. Sky was surprised. It was unexpected.
" P'Pai what's wrong?"
" Sky, I keep losing and getting people back, what would happen if I can't?"
" P'Pai no one is leaving you."
"Sky if he does I'll lose my mind."
" Who?"
"Payu."
